You would think a head coach of a major football program who preaches following rules and integrity to his players would live by the same set of rules. That piece of ass ain't that good to lose a job like that over!

Even if he doesn't wreck, how arrogant (or stupid) is he to think people wouldn't notice him riding a motorcycle (sans helmet) with a leggy blond on the back? I mean WTF ??

Besides Butch Davis, what other proven college coaches are out there not working at this time?

No way Butch Davis is hired! Arkansas is a very attractive job at the moment......we literally have a shot a winning a national title this year....the schedule is in our favor with LSU and Alabama at home as well as the returning starters in place........Program is in much better condition then when Bobby took over....I feel very confident we will land a big time coach, timing is terrible but we will see!

Didn't say they'd hire him, just not sure what other coach is out there. I don't see one who is already at a successful program leaving to take the job..........Oh maybe Rich Rodriquez. LOL

Obviously I don't know who the next Razorback coach will be but Buckwheat might be on the right track with the Holtz name. Skip Holtz (South Florida) will be given some consideration by the Arkansas AD. There are some ties there. Didn't say he would get the job....said he will be given consideration.

A prominent Arkansas booster (Jerry Jones, owner of Dallas Cowboys) who has been closely involved with significant decisions in the past with the athletic program is pushing Butch Davis to replace Petrino. Davis who was FIRED at North Carolina is currently working as a special assistant with the Tampa Bay Bucs.

I know Jones pours a ton of money into the Razorback program, but I agree with Redhog, hiring Butch Davis would be a huge mistake.

The only way for Arkansas to move forward and put this Petrino mess behind is to hire a coach who doesn't carry baggage. Davis wants the job, but Arkansas' AD is a straight shooter and I can't see him bringing in a damaged coach after this mess.

Agree that Davis isn't going to get far in the search. If you are a coach that was fired for leaving a program amidst a scandal, you aren?t going to replace a coach who was just canned for his improper actions. Arky wouldn?t consider someone like Jim Leavitt because of that basic principle, let alone the slime that is Butch Davis.

They should wait and go for a big name after the season ends. Arkansas is a gold mine much the same way LSU is. Great conference and no other major school to recruit against in the state.

I'm not sure how he'll do but you would think Gus would get a look.

Something isn't right about Malzahn. I just don't get the turning down the Vandy gig to go to Arky State a year later.

I would agree that they are in the same conference but I disagree with everything else. The only real success the program had was when it was in the Southwest Conference and I think that was because they played Texas teams and were able to recruit the Texas talent easier. Even with that somewhat success they have never won a national title. At least LSU shares a border with Texas. As far as getting in state kids, it's not hard because no one else wants them. Arkansas high school football is pathetic. The Oklahoma high schools have been playing them for the past few years and throttle their best teams every year. The only exceptions I can think of are Matt Jones and Darren McFadden. I think you are overvaluing the Arkansas football job.
