So what exactly was LSU supposed to do on 4th and 6 on the Arky 20 with over 5 minutes remaining? Kicking the fg to go up 3 td's and 3 2 pt conv's was the absolute correct thing to do - anyone who does not think so has not been watching football for the past 25 years as stranger things have happened then 21 pt comeback wins

Thought I would give the perspective of a non SEC fan. Petrino is a prick, plain and simple. The Ark. program lost a shitload of class the day they reached down to the bottom of the barrel and signed him. With that said, that doesn't give Les the right to run up the score which IMO is what he was doing. The announcers, by their comments, felt the same way. They kicked a fg because they got stopped. A play or two before that LSU threw a 30-40 yard bomb into the endzone while up 21! If the situation was flipped I'm sure all the LSU fans would think that the score was being ran upon them.
If your good enough to run the score up against the # 3 BCS team in the country, goddam do it. There is a huge difference between #1 and #3.

Just last year Petrino had the ball at the LSU 1 yard line with 2 minutes to play...arkansas had game in hand ....and took a knee. I was at the game.
ok lets sort out the facts here. LSU kicked a FG with 5:44 left. They were throwing the ball with 7 mins left up 38-17.
On the other hand Arky played New Mex St the 2nd game of the year and was up 38-3 with 11 mins left in the 4th qtr. The backup QB is still throwing and throws a TD pass with 11 mins left in 4th qtr. So its alright for your backup QB to throw a TD pass up 38-3 but LSu cant kick a FG with 5 mins left?
Fast forward to Tennessee game. You are up 35-7 on hapless Tenn. You throw a TD pass in the 4th qtr to make it 42-7. Did you really need to throw another TD pass up 28 pts in the 4th qtr?
