2 of the last 3 years they lose outright at home as big favs..............makes me wonder if they would have even even won the SB had they not faced such a weak QB in Grossman................

I think people always look at talent when trying to assess why teams win or lose. I really think a huge factor is what kind of heart a team plays with. The Colts have a ton of talent on their team but, IMO, they are very soft. They really don't have much of a killer instinct at all. How many times today did their offense score a TD to take the lead and get the momentum back, only to have the defense go out and let SD ram the ball down their throats?

As far as I'm concerned, one drive today pretty much summed up the Colts toughness, or lack thereof. It was after they scored the TD to go up 24-21, with about 10:00 to go in the game. The very next drive, the Chargers come out without LT and with Volek at QB. A tough team, a team with heart, not only stops the Chargers there, they probably get a 3 and out. The Colts, on the other hand, let SD march the ball down the field and score a TD on them like a hot knife through butter. I think that drive pretty much said it all...

colts mia :

mcfarland, freeney, tarrick glen, (retired) harrison(would have helped if he had sat out), the first 2 have a lot to do with that defense. the cover 2 only works if your front 4 can get pressure - the colts have no dt's of any size. they were pushed around by the titans 2 weeks ago and now sd. physical teams give them trouble. the covering skills of the indy corners are average when they have to play straight up.

Gotta give SD some of the credit, y'know? They had ALOT of bad calls go against them, no LT (makes their playcalling unpredictable:shrug: ), no Rivers, and when it counted, they were able to heat up Manning some.

14.5+ points a TON in the conference champioship game. I know, I know........NE is rockin' the world on their way to a date with immortality, but its not exactly like they outgun SD in the testicle dept. The Bolts D is runnin' pretty hot. They have absolutely NOTHING to lose and I honestly expect them to come out there with their hair on fire. So many factors for them to come out like crazed dogs........if NE doesn't take this game seriously, if they pick Sunday to start turning it over(#1 takeaway team in the league in SD), or get goaded into stupid penalties (if I were SD, I would try that angle some), or just have a bad day, then they can lose.

Remember back when NE was charming and covered 12+ vs St Louis? This one still has to played.............CANT WAIT!
