I think people always look at talent when trying to assess why teams win or lose. I really think a huge factor is what kind of heart a team plays with. The Colts have a ton of talent on their team but, IMO, they are very soft. They really don't have much of a killer instinct at all. How many times today did their offense score a TD to take the lead and get the momentum back, only to have the defense go out and let SD ram the ball down their throats?
As far as I'm concerned, one drive today pretty much summed up the Colts toughness, or lack thereof. It was after they scored the TD to go up 24-21, with about 10:00 to go in the game. The very next drive, the Chargers come out without LT and with Volek at QB. A tough team, a team with heart, not only stops the Chargers there, they probably get a 3 and out. The Colts, on the other hand, let SD march the ball down the field and score a TD on them like a hot knife through butter. I think that drive pretty much said it all...
