Going against the heavy consensus ( at least 9 out of 11 handicappers) choices on Pro Football Weekly has been a bit worse than expected at 15-12 but was 5-1 last week. After being primarily on favorites the first month or so, it looks like the boys over there decided (finally) to jump on the doggie bandwagon. Can't help but wonder if it isn't time for a little regression to the mean.....just as the public jumps on the dog bandwagon.
They like Buff, KC, NYJ, St. Louis and San Diego so the plays are:
Miami -- looks to be the value here; huge defensive and special
teams edge.
Denver-- PFW loves to take offensive minded teams who can't
stop anyone and no one is better at that than KC and
Buffalo. I guess they figure, "if we're going to lose, it will
be in a shootout." Whatever. A loss is a loss.
Minnesota--hard to understand why they'd be so much on the
Jets. True, the Vikes are bad but so is their opponent.
Seattle---They might be right that St L has some confidence back
after throttling the Raiders. But we've seen QBs look
good in their first start only to have poor second games.
Might be a good one to pass but for the angle's sake it
must count.
San Diego--They must figure that last week's game was the real
Raiders. It was a possible letdown situation for Oak
last week; Only negative on Oak is that it is a divisional
game; which are often closer than non-divisional games.
