The name is Philadelphia Park to me.

With the good weather back and all, I was looking forward to play something on Philly's first day of their week so I did the studying and all.

Fraid I have nuthin today, don't like Saturdays and don't like the card/races today at all. I did the dang work, so I might as well post what I came up with. The plays (I'll prob. give them a try for minimum wagers though)...

4th Race
Nos 3 and 4 are the horses I'll be watching in this race. Their odds (M.L.) are 15-1 and 10-1 respectively. Guess that means that I gotta do something with them but I have no idea what. My ratings, in order, for this race come out to be - 4-3-1 and the M.L. on this no. 1 is 10-1, what can I "say"??

7th Race
This race and the horses I came up with look a little more realistic...

Exactas 3,8 top/bot with 1,6 AND a side straight play on no. 2 (12-1 M.L.). Don't need to put much on that no. 2 at those odds to cover.
I liked the way no. 3, Dollar Mountain, ran in his last race and he's SUPER consistant - runs 2nd to 4th in almost every race. Yeah, he doesn't like to win; he's 1 for 36 lifetime. :scared
That no. 3 is in shape though and maybe he's just overdue? Like maybe WAAY overdue. One more thing - If you don't like a horse with a crummy jockey and trainer.. you don't want this one. BTW, I am gonna play the no. 8 way before the races start, but as far as the no. 3 goes - he's gonna have to look much better in the prerace than your average run-of-the-mill Philly dirtbomb before I use him.
Gentleman Jim, the no. 8, is one I liked a lot last time he ran and he did pretty good to get 3rd at 18-1. Still.. think he's IFFY today but FOR ME (maybe not you) I ain't gonna watch him win at a very nice mutual without me today.

8th race
Anybody looking for one of them BIG FAT Philly Zotic Submarines? This should be the race for that based on what I see. Wish I could help the viewers more with this race but, unfortunately, I can't find the two or three hosses that are gonna make it. The no. 4 has Carmouche/Guerrero connections and will get bet down. Got a feeling that one of two things will happen in this race; (1) he comes in with one of the 3 biggest longshots in the race (not necessarily, M.L. longshots - actual betting longshots) or.. (2) he doesn't even hit the board and that's gonna light up the results board alright.

Let's getem Sun, Mon, or Tues... and this coming Saturday, oh yeeeah! :)

That was a mistake about the no. 4 being the BIG favorite in the 8th.... it was the 7th that he was in. I wound up throwing the no 3 out and just played the 8 W/Pl/Sh and lost a few bucks. They bet the hell out of that no. 4 and he BARELY beat the 8.

Ok, I watching them for the 8th race.. if I see anything worthwhile, I'll try to post it with some time left.

3,6,9 are the worthwhile plays.

ALL great odds, look just a litle better than the rest. Believe at least one of these is the money play. 2mins.

Terrible... two FAVORITES run 1st and 2nd. Nos. 3 and 9 raced ok, but both faded.

Did the second best thing for today... only played 3 races. Best thing woulda been my first idea -> just watch the tennis and cut the grass. If tomorrow's card looks like today, that's exactly what I'll be doing tomorrow.

Tennis? I DID pick Sharapova and the Italian Pit Bull (Schiavone) to win it all on the ladies side BEFORE this tourney started and didn't play a cent on either one during the whole tourney and that was a mistake. Just played with Monopoly money for the whole tourney :(
I didn't have a pick for the men's side. I DO NOW though. (psst. .. he usually wears a bright red shirt). Am I REALLY gonna play him even at -230 .. .. you BETCHA and these "units" will have pictures of presidents on them. He's already in my "Bettor's Friend Hall of FAME" from previous years.

Hope somebody caught something worthwhile today.

There ya go.
Did ya see the race??

Led all the way to the last turn at 35-1, looked like he stumbled (NO EXCUSES, it may have happened cause the anchor dropped).. .. think he finished last. :(

SUNday

SUNday

Want to mention something about that 35-1 shot I played in the last race yesterday. No matter where he finished, that horse was well meant. They tried lasix on him and sent him out for all he was worth (led the field for quite a way). He showed no sign of early speed in his past performances neither. Coming up with a horse that is well meant by his connections is a good thing methinks.

Today
Plenty of "No thanks, I pass" races but the good news is that I feel more confident about the races I am playing today. NOT thrilled, but feel much better about them vs. yesterday's fiasco.

Another thing is that there are plenty of combinations/bets in each race I'm playing. LOOKS like too many. If an average bettor lays out.. hmm, say even a small bettor lays out $10/race , and say the avg. bettor skips say... 2 races in one race day. That's $70. I'm betting well under that for the whole day, just trying to insure that I hit the few races I LIKE.

6th race
Very competitive race with horses I'm familiar with. That usually means - pretty much, ALL of them got a shot. And that means - look for prices. One of the favorites, no. 3, does look a little better than the other's though, ESP. pace wise. I always give the inside hosses an edge in this particular distance race; I think they got a HUGE advantage ESP. if they got some early lick. Can't pass up the nos. 1 and 2 at the odds. No. 1,Tidwell, is one consistant runner that has (IMO) a huge risk/reward thingy going for him big time and the jock/trnr/owner are excellent. The no. 2 has a few subtle hints of something going on with him and 20-1 makes the decision easy.
EXACTAS 1,8 top/bot with 3,4,6,9 AND side Win/Place on no. 1 and no. 2 (explained above)

7th race
Won't bore ya with a book about this race; but I will mention that the ONLY hitch with the no. 3, Women At War, 8-1 is the layoff. Some kinda lines in this one's PPs and the works for this race are very good. Not posting this one as a side bet just yet, but if she looks ready in the prerace - I will make a decent side bet (Win/Place/Sh@3x) on her. BTW, that will get me close to 70 smackers for the day. Right now the play is....
EXACTAS 5,7 top/bot. with 3,6. Should be a good payer provided the no. 2 doesn't kill the zacta. I got the no. 2 hoss rated in the second half of this field.

guess what? ... THAT'S IT for today. G.L.

We don't have to worry bout the no. 3 in this 7th race and with the other scratches - no SUPER SUB in this race. Don't know what's going on with this track; after scratches, the 2nd race was a 3 stinkin horse affair. Maybe a horse shortage.

7th
With the no. 5 scratched, it looks like the no. 7, Santorini Moon, 6-5 is gonna be awfully tough to beat. I think the best way to play this race is just straight exactas with the best prices...
7 OVER 4,8 (the no. 8 ain't too bad, maybe an 8-7 as well). That's all.

No anchors on that 7 hoss (better not be at 3 to 5) and no exacta for me. Result was 7-6-4

Just throwing dollar bills around based on what they looked like in the paddock/post parade for the 8th. And I ain't sure what a steeplechase hoss looks like :0

ex. 1 top/bot with 4,8
and no. 2 Win/Place.

Let's see what happens.

Edited in results, not that it makes a difference. Results is... enough with jumpers. Time to get a little more serious for the 9th. I got a couple in mind but I gotta see them.

Nos. 4 and 7 look good and no. 6 looks OK. I have to leave it at that. I do like Edwin Rivera and the odds are right so that one I'll play. Not sure bout the others.

Luckily, I only played the 7 (Rivera's horse). Results was 8-5-4-7(30-1). Yeah, the stinkbomb won at 4-5.

Only one exacta ($47) for the races I played today. Gotta sharpen up cause I'm getting beat by too many favorites.

Monday and TUES are up next and I'm overdue. If I can't nail something better on Weekday Wacin at Philly, it may be time to go on a little leave of absence. We'll see.

MONDAY

MONDAY

Getting a little dizzy only seeing that bright red shirt going by while I scroll down this thng. BTW, how bout that Rafa? (er... him's a tennis player).

Don't know if the comments help anybody; so I'll skip all that today. BUT, I did go over the card real careful like as usual. GREAT so see fuller fields, nice purses, and loads of DECENT, Philly based runners. Sure beats their weekend card for me anyways. Not so good news is that some of those races that look soooo inviting ($$$$) are just too competitive to come up with anything. A couple of the races look like a bunch of clones and I can't seperate them.

4th race
exactas 4,6 top/bot with 1,2,8
Side/insurance plays - To WIN, only ... pick two of them -> 2,4,6. I'll throw out the one that looks worst of these in the prerace. No need to put much on the 2 and/or 4, they're huge odds. The no. 6 M.L. is 9/2. It is possible to hit the exacta AND the side play and that would make a real nice start for today. Of course, I add a little to that 2-6 box jobbie. I've written about those numbers plenty of times before.

6th race
Man, I was on this race for a long, long time. Like almost ALL of them. Sorry, gotta be a "No Play" even though I see so many huge exacta possibilities.

7th race
zactas... no.2,Vigors Storm top/bot with nos. 3,5,6. Side play on no. 3, Communicator (10-1 M.L.). I plan to put a little extra on this one such that, if he wins, the race is profitable.

That's where I'm up to right now. G.L. y'awl.

Still about 2 mins.

7,8 look pretty good out there. I didn't even consider either when capping them. just put 2 stinkin bucks on each.
