A couple of teams that could use a victory tonight as they are on the cusp of the playoffs. The Eagles come in winners of three in a row and the Packers come in off a BYE week after beating the Vikings on Sunday Night Football. I, personally, am still not sold on the Eagles brand of football. They do not seem to have found an identity this year. The pass defense has fallen off and they are below average. Donovan has not been very effective. No primary running back or wide receiver has emerged yet. As a result, they are not prone to big plays on offense, while they still do not give up a whole lot on defense. Due to these things, I do not look for a shootout. Philadelphia has not scored 30 points in a game this year, and while the Packers defense has been suspect at times, at home, I do not look for a terrible performance. Especially since the Packers poor defensive performances have been against the likes of the Vikings (Twice), the Chiefs and the Rams, three of the most prolific offenses in the NFL. The Eagles are hardly in that class. The Eagles will not be able to score more than 24 points, and in my estimate, more realistically 17-20. The Packers have been running the ball and scoring a lot of points, but as I said before, this Eagle defense is still not poor, and does not give up too many big plays. The Pack will try and establish the running game, and should be successful in moving the chains. I predict lots of field goals in this one, and for that being the case, I am not comfortable giving more than a field goal to the Eagles in this spot. I look for the total to be a pretty fair number, but will lean to the under.

MY PLAYS: PACKERS (ML) and the Under 42.5

The Packers will pull out a much needed win at home in a good game. Field goals will ultimately decide this one, and I like the Pack to prevail 19-17
