Philly - Monday 7/28

Poor card today, not much confidence in any of the 4 playable races. Was planning on slapping $20 or more on one of my top rated horse's that would prob. be the favorite in it's race. Based on what I'm seeing in my recent records, that just might work while the parade of favorites crapola is goin on. Well, I sho as hell ain't gonna do that with any horse on today's card.

Here's the plicks for today.....

3rd race: Zactas - I do have a little confidence with this race. no. 9 top/bot with 1,2,5,7.

6th race: More zactas - no. 1 entry (prefer the 1A) top/bot with 2,4,6,8 (who do we appreciate?)

7th race: BLAH! Don't want to tempt anybody to go along with this stab despite the case I make for it here. No. 2 (15 to 1 M.L. and methinks it's gonna go off MUCH higher) wheeled top/bot with ALL ... ONE stinkin dollar tickets. This no. 2, Chicharito, ran two DREADFUL races this year after a long layoff. DREADFUL. So, how cum I'm betting this one you Guests (UGH) ask? ....
- almost EVERY race this nag ran last year woulda beat this field today
- it's win % ain't so hot, BUT of the 15 races it ran at Philly in it's life.. it won 5 of them
- put in a 5 furlong workout for today's race
- I like the stable and the trainer even more. Jockey (Rosado) is so/so but better with distance races which is what today's race is.
and a couple of more minor things.
STILL, this call is really a reach. I also played a few trifectas with ONLY this no. 2 horse in the 3rd (show) spot. That's sort of an antidote against ANOTHER ass burner for me.

9th race: also have a LITTLE confidence with this race even though this one is between a field of certified Philladelphia Park DIRT BAGS/BOMBS- no. 2, Linchester (Cathedral.. you're bringing me down.. la la la la lah... OOPS, that's the wrong church ) top/bot 8,9. Gotta get a side order in this race; that would be no. 9 to win (a little on the heavy side).

Is tomorrow what I think it is?

I take it you didn't play that 2 horse in the 6th. Nice 13/1 right there - Was 2 your second choice?

SwanDawg, I think you mean that no. 1A in the 6th? I DID put that bet in and got home to catch that race. When I saw the piss poor odds (3/5) on that [1A) I cancelled my bets for the 6th race. I got TwinSpires and they allow you to easily CANCEL a bet online before the race at hand starts. Really didn't matter cause all my bets, cept the side win play in the last race, were peanuts today. BTW, that no. 1A was a VERY strong TOP rated horse in that race. LUCKILY, I didnt' believe the "VERY strong" part.

IF you're thinking of the 7th race (that crazy longshot,no. 2, that went off a around 13 to 1) I let my bet stay just like I posted -> wheeled the bastage top/bot in zacks... only for ONE stinkin dollar tickets. :00x15

Only winning pick was the "kinda heavy" side play on the no. 9 in the last race. I coulda lost all the posted races (they were the only waces I played) and the damage woulda been negligible. With that last race wiener it was just another "tire spinning" day. That's fine by me.

TUE$DAY?

Haven't got to see the card. Here's the deal about Tue$days... of course, I had plenty of losing Tuesday's BUT I'd say that going pretty far back, say... to my last 10 PHILLY BONANZA payoffs that I cashed... . I'd say that EIGHT of them occured on a Tuesday. What a phenomenon (how's that 50 cent word) that is! Also, IF I had a big winning day TODAY (the day before Tue$) that would be a bad omen for Tue$... Hmm... today was LOSING Day :0053

Wish I could turn back the clock for a month cause right now I'm thinking about upping the bet size for Tue$. Even I'm starting to believe the "Lucky" bit. Bankaroo ain't as healthy now and I think I'll just use 2 stinkin dollar bet for exotics (ALWAYS one stinkin dollar for tries) and bet straights with $5s and $10 as usual. I'll probably buy more tickets per race though, lookng for the BIG UN. BUT, no way do I focus my handicapping to find BIG UNS.... I cap the same way all the time, 20% subjective and 80% math and stats, and whatever the odds are on the TOP plicks that's what it's gonna be.

BTW, I never mentioned this .. but on Sunday's 2nd race which was playable, I just didn't like the way the numbers fell when I did the RATINGS. The race was just too iffy to make any pick. The TOP two rated horsses for that race were the 2 -6. I just didn't play the race. The result... YOU GOT IT - 6 ($13.40) / 2 for a $43.80 zackta. That was one of bigger zacta payout on that day of favorites too AND thems are "magic" nos. Tooo.. S(on) A(h) M(ah) BEACH :banghead:
