FINALLY, the circuses are over and it's time to get back to business.
Very brief comments cause I gotta explain how ya figure how to play an Off The Wall (hiya, MJ tennis players) trifecta bet I have in mind for the 6th race.
Anytime I quote how much trifecta bets will cost, base it on $2 tickets which is what I almost always play tries at) -
Today at Philly:
Race 6
No. 6, Cowgirlsinthesand (hellova name? I start humming Ghost Riders in the Sky everytime I see this hoss), 6-1 M.L. and I think it may go higher. I also like no. 7 in this race.
NOW, HERE WE GO.... I know 6 and 7 LUV to go together in trifectas and I don't want that to happen without me. Sooo... I guess that means a cwazy, cwazy play - 6,7/6,7/All and 6,7/All/6,7 AND ALL/6,7/6,7. Right? Now figure the cost of this abortion... first case ya got 2 hosses/2 hosses/SIX hosses (remember, the 6 and the 7 ya already got to fill the win and place spots so there's 6 hosses ya gotta cover in the Show spot), there's 8 hosses in this race. So ya got 2x1x6=12 not so stinkin tickets ($24). Second case is 2x6x1=12 tickets (ya got the 6 or 7 to WIN so that's 2 hosses in the win spot and that means ya got the one that doesn't win is the only one in the third spot). One more to go.. 2x1x6=12 tickets. Sheet, that's 72 bucks. I expect the tri to pay well over a hundred bucks. I think I may do it, but I gotta make sure that neither the 6 or the 7 are deadheads in the prerace first.
Second option... I got the 2,3,4,8 marked as trifecta factas. Just using these with the 6,7 just like above would cost $48. Much better but my luck with the circus acts we just got done with tells me that could be another ass burner. I've had my fill of them lately.
Easy option.. just play the ole Win/Place/Show@3x bit on the no. 6. Best of all - no dang figurin.
ONE MO THING... For sure.. I'm on 2-6 exactas BOXED (yeah, more magic) at 5 not so stinkin bucks apiece.
Race 7
Normally, the kind of race I look for ..... .. . 1mi 70yds, nice size field, and horses I'm familiar with. Went over them real close like and come up with 4 contenders.
2,3,4,5. Putting two on one side of the combo and 2 on the other side has been working for me so the play is:
2,3 top/bottom with 4,5 exactas of course. This is how my numbers came out but I'm not very confident about this race.
Race 8
No. 9 , Jove, looks much too tough and prob. much too overbet, BUT... no. 10, Sunshine Bernie @ 6-1 looks like a possible upsetter. I'm taking a shot with the no. 10. IF I was gonna mess with exotics, I'd use the 1 or the no.2 with the two picks.
Geez, looks like really only one good race to play and maybe it's best to make it one simple play too. That Cowgirl hoss in the 6th looks best today. Like maybe skip the confusion and just go a little heavy on the W/Pl/Sh @3x bit. I still got time to decide. I'm already on the 2-6 box zacta.
Man, put in a lot of time and effort for one stinkin wace.
