Don't know why I'm posting picks cause I sure as hell not recommending anybody plays along. That's not because I've been doing badly, really haven't, but it's because the races today remind me of that there Breeders Cups Circus that comes to town every year. You know, racing between CLONES. I'm also posting cause I've heard from more folks who are interested in the posts and the high viewership.
ALSO, I capped today's playable races with a bit of an edge given to the higher priced (ODDS) horses cause they all look the same and it makes a lot of sense to go for the gusto in that situation. That DOESN'T mean longshots are automatically picked though, just given a bit more credit... a tiny bit.
Race 4: It's a playable race, but it's as if they put together a list of horses that have the same good and bad factors together and demanded they get entered. Terrible! And the following two races ain't much different. After a lot of effort - here's the horses I'll be working with and looking at:
1,4,5,9.
Race 6: No. 8, Gentle Edwin, is a long time 7 yr. old Philly dirt bomb that has a decent record and appears to have enough left to take care of $5K claimers. I've been watching this horse which gives me a little confidence with the pick and I don't believe he ever raced at a level this low.
IF I play exactas, his zacta mates will be the 1,2,6,7. Also gotta make a side play on no. 4 to WIN, only. That no. 4 has a 1 for 45 LIFETIME record (Sheesh) but can outclose all of these dirt bag opponents in this race. Tough call no matter which one you pick in this race and that fact should automatically beef up the zotic payoff a bit. That makes this race worth playing IMO.
Race 8: Turf (Ugh!). Nos. 7 and 9 are the keys. Exacta mates look to be the 2,4,5.
You never know when a good day at this track is gonna happen.. G.L.
