Great to see Phillly philling up their cards recently; 5 and 6 hoss fields just don't cut it. I'll see if I can get some folks with a keyboard again and post what I gots so far for today...

2nd race:

No. 8, Chocolate Blush has the kind of pp lines to dream about; just GREAT. Before the Philly bettors started betting down the favorites and good, ealy speed held on right to the finish - this one would be a heavy play. But, speed isn't holding like it used to and with the Montanez/Guerrero combo on this one, this one will very likely get bet down. Still can't ignore Blush though.
zactas 8 OVER(only) 1,3,6,7
no. 7 top/bot w. 1 and the 3.
AND the side dish is no. 4, Naughtiy Naughty (20-1) W/Pl/Sh at 2x
is really cheap insurance that could easily pay for the zotics with plenty left ovrer. This horse has the speed to beat these; it's the connections and step up that makes the price so good.

3rd race:
Got your choice of exotics for this one. I believe I'll be on both...
exactas no. 3 OVER 1,8,2
and/or
trifectas 1/3,6,8/3,6,8/

I'll be checking out the nos. 2 (8-1) and 7 (6-1) for the side order. The play will be just Win/Place on one of these. Sorry, I gotta see them before I decide between them. If somebody wants me to be more specific for these two... right now, it would be the no. 2 cause I got him rated a little
higher than the 7.

5th race
Surprise, surprise.. gonna mention only ONE hoss for this race... promise :)

AND .. he's the longest shot (M.L.) in the race as well. Oops, well almost, he's tied for that honor with the no. 8.
No. 4, Khalifa (must be a Gweek horse with a name like that) doesn't need to be double digit odds for me to bet on this colt. Shrewd N.Y. bettors bet him pretty good IN HIGHER CLASS RACES at the Big A and he ran decent. That alone is usually enough reason to bet this one. His last two races were on off tracks, which I believe he doesn't care for, and he still closed very well to get 3rd DESPITE BEING STEADIED !
He's got enough early lick to lay 3rd or 4th and, unlike many of MY hosses, this one doesn't come with a dang anchor.
A whee job (top/bot) in exactas could produce a nice payoff. Adding an extra $2 on the combo that has the 2,3, and 6. .... or.. just hit this one a little harder than usual with a Win/Place/Show @3x should do the trick.

Looks like the 8th belongs to no. 3 (7-2 M.L.) with the Mouch onboard. Can't make that pick yet though cause the no. 1/1A entree looks tough and it's likely one may get scratched.

Wrap it up time

Wrap it up time

2nd - exacta clicked, making the plays all worthwhile even with that side order (no. 4) included who went off at 13-1.

5th - a harsh reminder why ya ALWAYS do top/bottoms at this track. You know, this one was a woulda, coulda, shoulda.

5th - that no. 5 was a disappointment alright. Didn't have to put much down though thanks to the 13-1 odds. He looked good for about 3/4s of the race and I actually thought he was gonna win it the way he was running. Didn't fade in the stretch just didn't have the late run to get a piece of the action. I'm gonna stick with this one for awhile while he's "vacationing" from the tough N.Y. circuit.

Moral of the day.... .. . maybe 13-1 is an UNlucky no. ??
