Started on Saturday's card and didn't find anything worth playing/posting till the 4th race. Tough to label this one a VALUE play but, provided the track is in halfway decent shape, I thing the pick has this field at it's mercy:

3rd race

No. 6, Passionforall. This 2/1 fav. has good speed, looked good the last time I saw her run, adds Barbara Hopkins as an owner, good jockey, HUGE class drop.... pretty much - the works. I'll be on this one as long as it's odds aren't odd-on. Er.. that would be "less that 1/1".

That's it for now. Gonna wait to see what's going on in Phil for Sat; it should be clear and cold, but the tracks with "Mickey Mouse" type maintenance equipment are in poor shape the day AFTER bad, wet weather and we know what that means.

Oh, off subect topic.
There is a BIG tourney going on in Australia these days. It's called the Australian Open (tennis). I've done pretty dang good betting this sport over the years and got picks as to who's gonna win it all....

Women: Aga Radwanska. She still has st least one match to go before getting to the final, I got her NOW (future).

Men: Still matches left to determine who plays' Murray/Federer should be starting their match soon and there's another match that has to be played yet. But. all that doesn't matter anyway. The winnah? Well, did I ever tellyas about this guy that usually wears a bright red shirt... . . :)

BTW, he's the reason why I've "done pretty dang good with this sport" over quite a few years, ESP. in the early years of his career when nobody thought he could beat Federer.

Looking at two more for Sat.. IF THEY RUN

Looking at two more for Sat.. IF THEY RUN

There are two "Ramos/LeBaron" horses that I'd take a good look at.

5th race: no. 4, Aunt Ellipsis (7/2)

6th race: no. 6, Bren's Friend (9/2)

In a situation like this I do sorta a progression. That is, ONLY play the 5th race and in this situation.. play that no. 4 Win/Place@2x. Gotta make at least a medium sized bet.

If you win the 5th... small play (thinking 1 stinkin dollar exactas) in the 6th which looks like it might be a decent payout. That means wheeling that no. 6 with all ... or.. at least half of the others with high odds.

IF you lose the 5th .. you gotta wheel the no. 6 in the 6th top/bot. with a bunch of the others or maybe even ALL the others. Prob. with 2 dollar tickets.

Hammy, that DUDE with the red shirt has been my best betting friend for a long, long time. He's an absolute killer on the tennis court and a hell of great guy off the court.

Dimes offers prop. type bets on the BIG matches that pay off VERY handsomely. You gotta call the sets though and I've been really lucky doing that in Nadal matches. That is.. you gotta pick the final set count.. like "Nadal wins 3 set to 2" or "3 sets to 1", or "3 sets to 0". I play two different tickets.. today vs. Fed.. I had he wins 3 sets to 1 AND 3 set to 0 (this one paid bigger :) )

Radwanska? She had nothing and just gave it up well before the match was over. I think she beat Cibulkova 6-0, 6-0 last year in this same tourney :scared: I believe this miniature scarecrow (who CAN play one hell of game too) had no energy left for this year's match with Cibulkova. You can play her anytime (cept after she had a grueling match the day before I guess) cause she can compete and has a chance to win vs. ANY of the ladies and that includes the BIG steamroller too.

Hope the dirt bags are a "GO" for Sat.

Good luck.

Don't want to turn this into a tennis forum, but I got Nadal/Wawrinka goes over 38 1/2 games. I also got some on Wawrinka to win (+440) but that's just SOME insurance because I already loading up on a futures bet on the guy with the red shirt ;)
I do bet tennis much heavier than the Philly Dirt Bombs, of course.

adding Race

adding Race

Maybe they'll get in the first race today, you know - to make it look good.

1st Race:
Anybody's race though. Gave it my all and came up with 3 pricey ones, nos. 4,6,8. Thinking bout zacks, no. 4 top/bot w. 1,2,6,8,9... AND side orders of 6,8 to WIN with enough on each to make the race profitable.

BTW, sitting pretty good where I'm at with the Aussie Open - Nadal (as usual, took him to win it all before the Open started, got +109), he wins and I win, Wawrinka (+440) he wins and I win. Caught a few unposted winnahs too; last night's was NaLi -4 games. I know none of this does anybody any good.. but, my only other bet is Nadal/Wawrinka goes OVER 38 1/2 games. Not gonna go with "calling the sets" for this one, but if I did it would be Nadal, 3 sets to 1 or Nadal, 3 sets to 2.

Tellya, that guy with the red shirt is a monster on the tennis court and he'll be a prohibitive favorite for the next Grand Slammer, the French Open. It would take a miracle for somebody to beat him on clay. Still, probably better off watching for the right match (doesn't need to be with Nadal in it, highly prob. he won't be in it) during the French tourney to hit rather than lay down so much on him in a futures bet; that's what I usually do when this tourney comes to town (in my TV set, that is).

Good Luck this weekend. I can't figure anything out for the S.B. Based on watching these two teams play - I like Peyton/Denver but conditions really favors Seattle. I can not believe the full house that will be sitting in those wooden chairs, freezing their asses off, watching two teams play under conditions that will impair the game and each team's ability ... and what them fans are gonna pay ($$$$) to go through a real torture test, getting there (I've gone that route at the Meadowlands many times), "enjoying" the game with a $10 bottle of beer frozen to their hand, and getting out of there, for them next Sunday.

Thanks for the correction, Let's Have Fun. I DO read these at least one time before pressing the submit button and it STILL doesn't do any good. Grrrr.

Sorry, but here we go.. .:violin:

Looks like Ramos got his winner for the day right off the bat in the first race. I didn't think I'd be around to watch the early races but turned out I did get online about 5 min. before the first race started. Guess what?

RIGHT, the no. 2 was the ONLY L@@KER in the race and did look much better than the others too. Gave it a long thought about going with the magic 2-6 box. Did I? NO! dang it. But, I DID spread a 10 dollar bill evenly between Win/Place on that no. 2 cause that one looked so good. Just lucky timing for me. Shoulda been "lucky" enough to put that magic exacta in though. Sheeet!

There was no bet for me in the second, next race for me is the 3rd.

I got a feeling that they're going to call it quits early today. HOPE NOT, cause I like that 5th and 6th race thingy I wrote about. Turned out that today is gonna be a busy day for me and I couldn't execute the bets like I wrote. I had to bet both ahead of time. Went kinda light on the 5th race selection and ...ah, kinda heavy on the 6th which I like better... all kinds of zotics and BOTH magic nos. going (1,3,6 tri boxed, 2<->6 zacktas boxed).. and some more stuff, using the no. 6 as well). IF the no. 6 just wins or places with one of my zackta horses on top I should be good in that race. I got him with a bunch. If he finishes 3rd, better be a 1 and 3 in front of him :)

Get this - I JUST pulled up the Philly video to see if I could find AND POST a L@@KER for the 2nd race. Forget it, they just started to load and you can't see a thing with all the snow blowing around; TERRIBLE day. Then I see a thumbnail pic of Aqueduct and pulled that live video up and it looks like they're on a different planet.. NO snow on track or in the air. Horses running races like it was summertime (there was a race going on). Aqueduct is not that far from Philly.

Thanks again, LHF.

How bout an "E" for EFFORT ?

How bout an "E" for EFFORT ?

you're welcome. I knew it would be a winner so didn't want anyone to miss a winner.

Unfortunately, so did everybody else :(
Good thing it didn't break through my criteria for betting it (had to be at least 1 to 1, :) )... $4.00 wiener.

5th..... Win/Place bet and my hos places to a 1/5 shot.
............................................................ :0047 .....

6th.... $19.60 exacta which didn't quite cover all the stinken $1 zotics I bet.

8th... Did a GREAT job finding the race of the day ($$$$) and won a:mj15: for not finding the right hosses..

Ooops, forgot about -
Missed a decent ($66) magic nos. zacta in the first race. BTW, I had a side bet to WIN on no. 6 who ran 2nd @ 9/2.... SON-ah-ma-BEECH!

and, as usual - got back some sqwatch money.

Great to see that they plowed all the way through a miserable weather day in Philadelphia.

:director: ATTENTION all night owl MJ tennis PLAYERS - report to your TV at 3:30 (EST) TONIGHT for some REAL excitement, the tennis STUD vs. Wawrinka. I believe Wawrinka will still be on his feet at the end of what I expect to be a bit of a marathon. Stan is a BULL; but I think tigers beat bulls, right?

LUV the game and cherish a trophy for 2nd place in a county tournament in N.J. I got about a 100 yrs. ago. That thing sits right on the bureau in my master bedroom. There aren't many of the assholes around any more that used to say tennis is a "wussy" sport. Used to get a kick out of them, knowing that after 10 minutes of play they would be a melted puddle, glued to the hot (100+ degrees earlier this week) tennis court that the maintenance crew would need scrappers to get them outa there while their tennis pro opponent would be ready for 4 more hours of play. :mj07:
