Normally, Sat. is a no-go for me. But today's card looks VERY good ..... well, LOOKED very good (until I really got into it that is).
Gotta BE CAREFUL TODAY though... . I'm up to race 7; most of the races turn up No Plays plus (1) I don't know if the track is gonna come up muddy or what.. and (2) even though I'm really familiar with most of the horses running today - thems just about ALL inconsistant as hell. That ain't good
Only got one race that I feel good enough about so far to post. So -
Race 5
No. 2, Alioth with a 3-1 M.L. which is just about where I think this one will go off at. This $60K purchase by Seattle Slew has plenty of speed to go to the top or EASILY get the 2nd spot during the race and take it from there. Excellent jock/trnr combo for this kinda race too. Only fear the no. 5 and the no. 6. I'll prob. double up on the exactas involving these two and maybe get a tiny 5-6 box just to avoid the ole ASS BURNER today.
Playing this race EXACTLY like this should produce a profit for the race...
No. 2 top/bot zactas with 1,5,6,7 AND also a Win/Place on no. 1 , gotta bet it right so that the race is profitable if the no. 2 falters. The no. 1 hoss has a M.L. of 12-1 so this second bet doesn't need to be for that much.
7th race looks like a moola makin proposition alright. Had plenty of $$$ signs bouncing around in my head when I saw this race and ESP. the horses in it. Unfortunately, the fav. (10) looks pretty tough but if he runs out... race should produce some Philly style nos. on the toteboard when all the fur (er, mud?) stops flying. Too many good prices that I like for me to write anything but I hope I can eliminate a couple after I see them on the track.
I'll TRY to stop back to see if anybody's interested in Philly today and if so - maybe I can post something worthwhile for this one .. and the later races which I should have capped by then.
