Where it is real F ing COLD
Well I brought my dog up to the animal shelter to pick up a new dog.

He liked her the best. She is so docile and gentle yet she is skiddish to doors opening and to noises. She seems to be potty trained but will take some work as she tried to pull me around while being on the leash. She has been at the shelter since mid December and she is 5 years old. Her prospects of getting adopted were slim and perhaps that is what has drawn me to her. She loves dog treats already..

Well thanks everybody, but just to give you an update, this dog is not fixed but will be in 2 weeks, does not know what "sit" "come" or her adopted name is or was. She wants to be outside at all times. It is 30 degrees here and just got 3 inches of snow but that is what she wants. I am getting her in the house at intervals to get her more familiar. Very skiddish dog with everything "NEW." She has a decent sized fenced in yard with a shelter shed but I may need a dog house. Randy would never set foot in one and Brooks would of died long before she did if she had to live in one but I am telling you this dog wants to be out and that is fine with me.

She has 39 more acres to run on but she is not going outside of the fence until 1. she is fixed, 2. she learns to come. 3. She learns to sit. I am assuming that I can easily teach her these commands over the next few weeks. I hope the spay doesn't throw it for a loop emotionally but the Shelter gave me 3 weeks from adoption to get it done through them at no cost.

This dog is gentle, tiimid, and scared of certain things. I brought her to my sister's on a leash and she was friendly with children and her dogs. Paid no attention to the hissing cat and caged rabbit. She paces when she is not outside but once she gets familiar I think she will ease in.

Tomorrow night after work the training starts not to say I haven't tried some techniques but tomorrow we start working somewhat hard.

Good to hear! I'm sure it will just take some time before she adapts to the way things are.:0074 :0074
