I don't post many plays, but handicapping the recent 1.vice contest has had me paying a good bit of attention this year. That, and the Pirates are my local team makes me think I have a solid play here.
As the Pirates look to begin their annual second half collapse they are going to do it with a lack of offense this year instead of the starting pitching getting shelled.
This team flat out can't hit, they can't. While it looks like they hit the cover off that ball last night they really didn't. I think they had 2 or 3 hits through 5 innings before managing three solo shots in the sixth and then a handful of hits in the 7th and 8th. Don't fret, when they do manage to get runners on base cue Pedro Alvarez to pop out to shortstop. I swear there isn't a less clutch player in the game today (nice job grounding out to first 4 times in the HR derby).
Throw in the fact A.J. Burnett is on the mound for the Pirates today who has the second best ERA of all pitchers with a losing record and I don't see this one challenging 7.5 runs even if it goes 15 innings.
UNDER 7.5 -115 seems like a good play to me.
