PITTSBURGH PIRATES +110 ? I have become a big fan of Josh Fogg, who seems very composed on the mound and does not get rattled when hit with adversity. Fogg has managed to go 7-6 pitching for a losing ball club, with a good 3.87 ERA and an excellent WHIP of 1.18 in 90.2 innings. He has been even better on the road, where he has a 3.20 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. Granted, the Pirates are 1-3 in his last 4 starts, but that wasn?t entirely Fogg?s fault, as he allowed no more than 4 runs in any of those games. In fact, Fogg has allowed more than 4 runs just 1 time in 15 starts this year! I expect him to have continued success vs. a Detroit team that is hitting an anemic .217 over the last 10 games. Granted, Redman has also pitched very well as of late. However, he is still just 3-7 on the year, and the Tigers are 5-10 in all of his starts. Also, should both of these pitchers be on top of their game tonight, this could turn into a battle of the bullpens. Pittsburgh has a HUGE edge in this department, with a group pen ERA of 3.81, nearly one run better than the Detroit bullpen?s 4.79 ERA.
