Reasonable observation, but I think it has more to do with competition and heartbreaking loses to Atlanta.

Been watching the Pirates just about everyday since the break. They have doing it with pitching and defense. They have no power. Can't believe what they have done with so little hitting. The pitching has faltered a bit late. Overbay is awful. Want to see what Ludwick does would like to see Paul or Pressly get those at bats, but will see overall I think it is a decent team getting better. Good luck to everyone!!

Pressley , d'arnout and harrison brought youth speed and energy to the team....they seem to be lifeless without them. just my 2cents.
alvarez is total opposite seems like hes half asleep out there. rather see harrison or d'arnout at 3rd. atleast vthose 2 bust their ass.

Pressley does seem like the piece that is missing. Alvarez does come across as someone who appears unenthused, but so did Aramis Ramierez. BTW, what ever happened to him?

Alvarez will come around IMO. He's got some work to do getting better at LHP but I think it was just an early season slump he's breaking out. Above the mendoza so hopefully he keeps moving that average up. would really like to see the pirates be good fora change

Definitely getting on them tonight with Mcdonald pitching
