Looks like we have AJ BURNETT going for Pitt in place of CORREIA. Not sure why......I was going to play Pitt, but passing now.

Burnett will debut tonight

A.J. Burnett will make his Pirates debut tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals. Burnett was activated from the disabled list to take the place of righty Kevin Correia, who had some stiffness in his left side. Correia said he feels fine now ? he threw a bullpen earlier today without problem ? but management wanted to play it safe and give him some extra rest. Burnett had been slated to make his final rehab start tonight with Double-A Altoona.

Correia could make his next start Monday against the Rockies. At the moment, Brad Lincoln is listed as the starter for that game, but manager Clint Hurdle could reshuffle his rotation. If that happens, don?t feel bad for Lincoln; he will fill Jeff Karstens? spot in the rotation for at least the next couple of weeks. Karstens has been shut down for seven to 10 days due to a sore shoulder. Results of an arthrogram and other tests on Karstens? injury have been sent to Dr. James Andrews for evaluation.

??? To clear a roster spot for Burnett, reliever Jared Hughes was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis. Last night, Hughes threw three innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits. That extended outing put him out of commission for a day or two, so Hughes was the natural choice to take off the roster.

??? Closer Joel Hanrahan (hamstring) expects to be ready to go tonight. ?I?ve worked out every day since it happened (last Sunday),? Hanrahan said. ?I felt good yesterday, but to day I feel even better.? Hanrahan has not pitched in a game since tweaking his hammy while getting the final out of his first save Sunday in San Francisco.

Burnett is always a good fade, but gotta wait and see how he does with Pitt. Great fade with the Yanks...different team now.

Shit if he couldn't win with the yanks lineup how will he pull wins with Pitt.

:mj07: ....good point. Maybe he figures he won't get run support so his mind frame going in will be that he HAS to pitch well. With the Yanks he prob knew getting down 5-6 runs would be ok. With Pitt...no chance. We'll see......
