Pitt -2.5 over the Hall[I got it at -2 last nite]Say what you want.The line has "trap" all over it.I know it,you know it,and Barbara Shine knows it.I'll get back to her later.I could write a book on this game.Will try to do the "cliff notes" version.Hall has played poorly.They play no defense.They have a front line that avg's 12 pts a game.Morton and Manga.Allen has been moved outside to the 3 spot and has done very well the past 5 games.Lane shot 2-13 the other nite.He justs hoists them up no matter who is under the bds.Barrett is a stud.Can penetrate,shoot,dish,and hustles his little ass off.Shine got no lite vs Rutgers the other night.He comes in the game and does whatever he wants.Orr says "Ty,try to work the ball down to manga".Ty responds "ok coach,as he takes five 20 ft jumpers and misses them all.So Orr sat his Shine ass on the bench the entire game vs Rutgers.No explanation at all.
Hall has lost 4 in a row ats,6 of last 8,is dead last in the BE in Fg%.Can't even get in the NIT's.Orr has no control.In the time out at Rutgers the other nite the whole team is arguing with each other.
This team can't rebound either.They do press good.In fact when Pitt beat them by 5 the press got them back in the game.Howland never attacked the press.If you remember my past post I blasted Howland.Pitt was up by 20 and lost the lead by just getting trapped in the corner every time.Hopefully they watched the tape,listened to Lenny Elmore on ESPN and will go over the top of the "diamond" and attack it.Or reverse the ball and attack it from the weakside.
Pitt is the best defensive team in the BE.They pressure the ball,contest shots and rebound.They need one win to clinch and would rather get it done tonite.Knight and Page are explosive.Lett,Troutman and Brown is a strong front line.Zavakas can bomb them from the 3rd row.Pitt is 8-1 ats in last 9 games.They have beaten the hall the last 3 times by 5,7,and 12.Manga does not have to be double teamed down low so that helps the defense.
Not predicting a blowout because the hall is playing with pride.It's senior nite but playing in the Meadowlands is different.It's a huge arena.The court is far from the seats.Not a college home court.Hot dogs are 6 bucks.C'mon,doesn't that tell you something.
But the big news tonite is Ty Shine's mom is flying up from Georgia for senior nite.She will introduce her son tonite in the pre-game ceromony.Barbara said"I hope I didn't make this trip for nothing".Boy I would pay big bucks tonite for seats right behind Orr's bench.Keep your eyes on the Hall bench tonite.I've got the over-under Mrs. Shine knocks Orr on his ass if Ty doesn't play.
