If San Diego loses it makes the KC game meaningful. Same may be true for the Pitt game. I haven't looked at the scenarios lately but I know that if SD won today KC would have been knocked out. I think the books know there's a good chance SD will lose this game. Probably going to inflate the KC line bigtime if that happens.

my friend has pitt-13.5 as the 4th of 4 in a parlay, other 3 hit. 500 tw 5000. i told him to grab det +14.5 for 1000 or so to hedge but there is no line, possibly catch the middle. i guess he should pull for denver then. why were the lines up earlier in the week at all?

So. Cal
adjusted lines upcoming pending the win/loss by the chargers

loss equals pitt in and kc out.....lines adjust toward cincy and det

win equals both teams having to win and lines will likely remain the same

16-7 now. I know, I know, it's far from over. But if SD comes back and wins this game it will be one of the biggest upsets of the year to me. They look God awful.

"god awful"

must not have gotten the memo from the sd media, sd fans and sd players that this is the greatest team ever...to miss the playoffs........even though they wont even have the best record of non-qualifiers this year.....:)

no KC needs wins by Denver over SD and Det over Pitts, and also must beat the Cincy to clinch the last playoff berth. While the playoff scenario is plain and simple for Pitts: win over the Det and they're in.

Yeah gjn, they were overhyped quite a bit. I admit I was wrong about them. I think they have a ton of talent, but they're just inconsistent as hell. And having Marty as your coach, well... yikes. I really should have seen this letdown coming. Everyone kept saying this was a meaningless game for Denver. Well why wasn't it meaningless for SD? A win today and they're still golfing... But yes, you're absolutely right. People have been all over SD's jocks and it has gotten a bit old.

If Denver holds on and wins the Pitt line will go to at least 17.........just my opinion.......

I was going to use Pitt in a 4 teamer but didnt want to sit on Pitt-1/2 and have them not need the game(if SD won).......now they look like they will need to play all out.......

that's the thing....i dont see all the talent

the wr corp is totally average and has no SPEED

the db's are terrible and have no SPEED

the lb corp become fairly decent because of the presence of merriman but foley and godfrey are past their prime

o-line is okay

lt is a stud

gates is a stud

brees is good but his arm strength is average

all in all.....a slightly beter than average team who beat a bunch of losers last year (1-5 vs playoff teams) and was totally inconsistant this year....and the've been fairly injury free.

Well I think you touched on it when you said the secondary is terrible. That was their Achilles heel this year. Other than LT and maybe Gates, they don't have a bunch of superstars. But I do think they have a lot of good players. Maybe not huge name players, but guys who can get the job done. Their pass D killed them this year. If their pass D had been even AVERAGE they would be in the playoffs. And you're right, their receivers aren't great either.

Their receivers kind of remind me of the receivers on the Seahawks. No big play threats, just pretty slow, possession type guys. Can you believe I said possession and Seahawks receivers in the same sentence? :mj07:
