WRITEUP:
Alright.... this is one of the largest bets of my life... I know it is stupid to go all in just like that, but I absolutely love this game... I first came across it last night, and I like it even more now.... Why do I like this game? Well I will tell you LOL! Okay... Townson is (11-14), with a (7-9) record vs. conference teams this year, while Georgia State is (6-19), with a stellar (3-13) record vs. conference teams, LOL... Georgia State opened as a -4.5 favourite (and still is) although they have 5 more losses this season then Townson, and 4 more losses vs. conference teams... Townson +4.5 looks like an EASY win correct? Well not exactly... First of all, the public is pounding Townson like you would expect them to, any unexperience gambler would look at this game and see an easy win by Townson... That's why the books set the line at -4.5... As of now... 72% of the public is on Townson and the line has not budged, in fact it looks like Georgia State might even be a -5 favourite before game time (line is -4.5 -115 @ pinnacle).... This game is a clear set up by the books, they know something that we don't....
These two teams played earlier this year (January 21st), where Georgia State LOST by 4 @ Townson... So the revenge factor comes into place here... Georgia St has lost their last 5 games so there is no reason they should be favourites.... Townson is a horrible 4-8 on the road, though Georgia st isn't much better with a 3-8 record @ home... Reasons why I think Georgia State can win this game are; well when these two teams met up a month ago, Georgia St. could have/should have, won that game! They lost 66-62, but they had a 3 point lead @ the half... Now that they are @ home, if they are up @ the half, their crowd will get them through it.... Georgia St.'s main problem is their height, or lack of it... They are one of the worst teams when it comes to rebounds as they averaging only 20 per game, but they have finally met their match, as Townson isn't fairing much better with 21 rebounds per game... In their last matchup, Townson snagged 41 rebounds, while Georgia St. came down with only 21... It should be much closer tonight, which will provide to more scoring opportunites for Georgia St. then their last matchup.... Malcom Manier (their second leading scorer) has not played in their last couple games (two I believe), and he will be back tonight, and should show a great performance... Townson's defense is "WEAK" and Georgia State should expose that tonight....
Oh I forgot to mention, the reason why Georgia State MIGHT be a -4.5 favourite, could have something to do with Townson's leading scorer being doubtful tonight... lol... You like how I got you to read all this information when you could have just skipped to this LOL... Gary Neal, Townson's best player, and one of the best players in the NCAA, will most likely be out Thursday with a sore foot.. in 16 games, he is averaging 27.1 points per game... Their next top scorer Lawrence Hamm who is averagin 15 points per game... this is crutial information, because without Gary Neal, Townson is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!
In conclusion, here are my predictions for tonight, will be interesting tommorrow to see how "right" or how "wrong" I was lol...
. Herman Favors, Malcolm Manier, and Boyd Copeland will all score double digits tonight... Boyd Copeland, (although he is not the leading scorer for the team), is a solid 3 point shooter, averaging 38.2%, as is Manier and well most of the Georgia State Panthers squad... I have seen them play a few times this year, and when they are hot they remind me of West Virginia from downtown.... in their last game vs. Townson, they shot 10-27 from behind the arc... The 5,000+ crowd will be rocking tonight, and I am hoping they are on fire from downtown....
. Although their Free throw shooting has been week in some games, I predict they will hit at a 60% + mark tonight.... They do have some great free throw shooters (Favors, Manier, McGrew, Copeland) All averaging over 70% from the freethrow line....
. Georgia State will win by double digits... I see a 80-66 ass wooping...
