really hate this rivalry. only because i don't live there. i guess if i lived up in the northeast i would have more respect for it, but the espn types and other medias make me hate these two teams. dodgers/giant, cubs/cardinals are just as good a rivalries. note to ESPN, there are other teams in MLB besides the yankees and boston. DONE BITCHING

always like to take it slow beginning of season, but also must have the obligatory opening day or night as the case is play.

2005 season record 0-0 +$0

intangibles favor the yankees in a big way. world series hangover, yanks home opener, big acquisition making his pinstripe debut, small payback type game for last year.

Randy Johnson has the advantage if stuff is working against the American League as they haven't seen him that much in the last few years. The bats that have seen them for Boston haven't fared all that well though:

Damon 0-1
Ramirez 4-19 .211 1 jack
Nixon 0-0
Mueller 4-19 .211
Renteria 7-25 .280 1 jack
Bellhorn 0-9 8 strikeouts (he might sit)
Millar 5-23 .217
Varitek 1-7 .143

Yanks have been able to hit Wells a little better:
AROD 20-56 .357 7 jacks
Posada 6-17 .353
Jeter 14-42 .333 2 jacks
Matsui 1-3
he has had success with bernie w and sheff

i think when you factor in the intangibles, wanting a game a bit more than the others in the 162 and the better batting matchups, the yanks are the right side.

refuse to ever lay -190 and hate run lines in rivalry type games. so gonna lay one run at -1 -143.

429/300 yanks -1
