stuff.. GOOD stuff

stuff.. GOOD stuff

Consider this as a belated Christmas GIFT to the RTJ's (Race Track Jacks) wannabees, Jimbo's Army (all 2 or 3 of yas), and, of course the ... . . .er, Read and Runners, and the Bored (looks like I'm in this category today, writing all this), and Wackos (read ANYthing-and-run over and over again).

I used to have more fun playing the ponies. Yes, I did handicap the picks and thoroughly enjoyed the game/sport. Don't regret the years I spent just having a great time with this interest. AND I still do luv it, but just not the work part of it that much. But, the holes in the shoes, moths in the wallet, and old clunkers I drove had to go and it was either giving this game up ... OR putting some really hard work into it and even by doing that... you'll only have a little better than a slim chance of succeeding, LONG TERM, if your objective is to make moola. It does take some analytical ability and plenty of patience, time, and common sense.

Practice, practice, practice .. . and that AIN'T fun neither.

Not changing the way I pickem cause that mostly relies on following them and not so much nos. on PPs. It's proven itself in the past. Also, spotting them which is something that really got prices for me but NOT the past two weeks though. Don't know what's up with that current failure.

For whatever reason, today has been a bit hectic - phone, door bell ringing. Been keeping me away from the important stuff ;) like posting the PAPER plays. Luckily, I did the picking late last night. Been testing different ways of "HOW To BETUM". Looking at all the different ways... building trifectas, boxing trifectas, zactas, W/Pl/Show .. stuff like that.

So far (playable races)...

1st race.. liked this race a lot. Winning way to bet was build trifecta.for this race. Nos were 1,6/1,4,5,6/1,4,5,6,7 ($1,$2 - paid $42, $83 respectively).

2nd race... pick was no. 4 and there ain't no right way to bet LOSAHS.

4th ... no. 9 won making the W/Pl/Show play bestest.

TIME OUT... . . . BEFORE THEY RUN.. handicaped picks for the 9th are the 5 and 6 hoss. no. 2 is the "looker" (IF I was gonna REALLY play something, think I'd stick to the 5 and 6 one way or another).

still 3 mins to post for this 9th race.

Just watched the 9th and HAH HAAA.. that's exactly whats been doing me in lately.. didn't like a favorite that winds up winning the dang wace. :(

Not much I can do about that. The fact that my no. 5 hoss was the biggest price on the payoff board.. finishing 3rd wouldn't have helped any of the exotic type bets. Even if I played the W/Pl/Show@3x that wouldn't have saved me no matter how I played em. .

OK, back to the RESULTS....

8th race was playable and the pick WAS the no. 8, the winnah. Of course I didn't get time to post it. Exacta plays woulda been a losing proposition, betting W/Pl/Sh was a WINNING proposition. No time to figure tries or any other kinda betting for that race.

Gotta do this BORING stuff a lot more days.

OH, almost forgot one more "gift" ... .. for the occasional bettor this might work, but for the steady, serious players that believe that betting big is better.. LOOK OUT! That means that you gotta pickem MUCH better if you're gonna make it happen in this game. During the time between Aug. and Nov. .. I TRIPLED my bankroll (started with 3 figures) while betting 1 stinkin dollar tries (very few trifectas, and some of the zactas I played were for only a buck/ticket), 2 stinkin dollar zactas (most zactas were for this much, zactas really helped building the bucks), and 5/5/10 or 20 not so stinkin dollars on straight bets. Since then I lost back about 1/3rd of the bankaroo. It's likely that stepping up the betting during this bad spell woulda resulted in losing all that work and earlier profits or maybe even more. Bottom line is... you'll KNOW you're on the RIGHT track when you see the bankaroo building and building after LONG periods of time by betting small.

Picked the wrong day to write a book in here... don't think I'll be doing it again, guess I'm still in the Christmas spirit. :)

I'll prob. post some more and see if it's helping anybody. ALL PLAYS are PRACTICE for now.

Glad you're enjoying the my entertaining ways, heleanth. Unfortunately, that's about all I can offer lately.

Been working on the answer to my question; "How cum, the "magic" I had during my long (months) of fun and frolic in the PARK (Philly Park, that is) is not working like it used to?". Still not coming up with the answer, and LUCKILY - only doing practice plays. Actually had a tremendous day about 4 Philly racing days ago where I hit 4 out of 5 races. By far, the bestest thing about that day was that my PRACTICE 3 horse exacta boxes in two of my winning races were also the dang TRIFECTA nos. So I started to add PRACTICE at building trifectas as part of my "research". Those things are much more costly and it turned out that following that path would have resulted in turning my reason for visiting the beach from doing some surf fishing to doing some rock licking for nourishment instead. Pretty much learned that betting the way I was betting is the way to go for me.

Making some headway lately, but not close enough to post anything here just in case somebody may actually read my stuff for the PICKS and tail along. Don't wanna lose anybody else's moola.

Think I will return to my winning ways though and then I can see if I can get some more horseplayers in here to join in and post their plays or comment on mine and see if we can resume filling up them money bags again.

Do stop in to say,"hello" again, heleanth.

BTW, I do see a few dirt bombs listed for Saturday's card that I just might play for real. VERY small bets though.. kinda like semi-practice mode. :)

Also, I do want to see the pp's for those applicable races before I do anything with Saturday's card.

I may get to post them if there's some folks around here... noticing this place is in MUCH worser shape than it was before. :(

Back in the saddle AGAIN.. well, not quite

Back in the saddle AGAIN.. well, not quite

EDITED.. Since I haven't been playing for REAL.. these picks came out of my notebook and they're for SUNDAY. Yeah, I'm ahead of schedule. I'll start a new thread for Saturday.

SUNDAY's CARD

Glad to see you're still here, Hogman. Hope Hamster ain't far behind.

Before I write anything here.. I'm NOT in the form I was in when we/ME was reeling in them lunkers awhile back. So, NOT suggesting anybody play along just yet.. Ba, ba, BUT.. I do like some hosses that will be running today. Now, I haven't bet a cent for quite some time now and wouldn't be betting a cent today if I didn't really see some of my old Philly regulars entered today. Sooo... I'm planning on going into SEMI-abstinence mode today and maybe spread a stinkin $20 AROUND today TOTAL.

Since I'm here now, I might as well list the ones I like. Still, gotta checkem further though and I'll be back.

1at race: no. 3 Captain Twitch.

2nd race: 5,6,7

4th race: What a GREAT Philly style race among mostly decent, "Philly regulars" claimers. For this race it's really hard for me NOT to study it in detail cause I know most of these hosses VERY well and I'd just LUV to spread a C note around in this race alone. This race looks to have the makings of much better than average payoffs all the way around and IF they had 7 races ($7.5 Claimers) , having each of the 7 horses I like in each race... I'd bet each one in each race fairly heavily before even seeing any of them on the track.

OH YEAH, I can pick hosses alright.. I can pick PLENTY of hosses ! :) and I like 7 of them in here LOL. Actually, I marked 5 of them when I first saw the entries the other day. NOW, I'm realizing that the two outside hosses are VERY dangerous as well and thems not even among the five I marked. Sheeeet. :banghead:

No sense listing them now, I gotta go over the race like I used to and eliminate some and I'll be back with what I like.

7th race: no. 6, Smarty Slew, 12-1 M.L. Saw and played this one and this horse has some talent fosho.

That's it for now... I'll be back with a reasonable 4th race pick(s) I HOPE.

Didn't know you were interested, jng.

I am waiting for them hosses to RUN damnit. Grrr.

Wasted hours capping today's (Sun) card. Great card for today too. Same crap as last year... announce that racing is cancelled today, announce it late as possible... then corral the sheep into the casino.

Don't follow Balmoral, one of the FEW racetracks that I never tampered with. But, Good luck, sk.

Things are REALLY looking like the good ole days again; well, TODAY (Mon) anyways. Found almost every longshot that made exactas payoff sweet and my pick (among two top picks) was the other horse.

Top longshot of the day was the no. 3 in second race who finished 2nd at 14-1. Winning Drive, winner of the race that just finished was the ONLY "LOOKER" in the race. More good stuff happened today too. I did bet, but WAY too small. Gonna stay small for the 8th as well and hope there's something good to tomorrow when I'll decide whether or not to open the moola bag a little wider.

Oh, picks in this upcoming 8th are no. 1 and 9. Gotta see what the no. 8 looks like cause that one gets a figure and is now 18-1.

A little order of no. 5 on the side across the board just may make the late lunch tastes a bit better at 18 to 1

Gotta mention, now that the prices are up, that was a ripoff exacta for those two. VERY much unlike Philly.

That was a FULL 12 horse field. Zacta hosses were 5-1 and 15-1. Shoulda paid MUCH more.
S -Ah -Ma - Bches!

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda Dep

What was I writing about staying AWAY from them trifectas?? WRONG again.

9-5-8 tri paid $733.40 (hadda be due to that no. 5 hoss)

My 20 stinkin dollar bankroll that I brought with me today grew large enough to cover the trifectas in the last race. STILL, kept my promise about NOT opening the ole wallet that much at the betting windows today. No trifecta bets for me today and that's OK.

Not sure if I'll be around tomorrow; good luck whatever twacks you play.
