In what is being billed as "A statement game, for players and fans" goes tonight. With everything surrounding the team off the ice, on the ice the Sens have played super to date. Tonight will be a full house at the Corel Centre. The players have stated over and over how the atmosphere will be electric tonight. The fans want to show everyone what hockey in Ottawa is all about. The players figure alot of added emotion will push them more tonight. During the playoffs every year, the Corel Centre is one of the loudest rinks as both Barry Melrose and Don Cherry have stated on several occasions. Tonights crowd will be a playoff type atmosphere.

Prusek starts for the Sens in goal and the Bulin Wall for TB.

INJURIES: Rachunek and Hnidy on D for Ott.
Boyle and Cullimore for TB.

I know alot of you are thinking the following:

Sens are returning from a 3 game west coast road trip and teams come out flat generally in this spot......not tonight as the players know the importance of the game and the fans will not accept less.

Prusek is 7-0 and has not played in 10 days and is due for a loss....not tonight, the team always plays extra good in front of him.

TB has not won in Ott. since Dec. of '97...not tonight, TB will have to wait until their next visit for a possible victory at the Corel Centre.

TB wants revenge from the 6-3 thrashing they took on New Years Eve...not tonight, the Sens are just that much better and TB is poor defensively as well they don't roll 4 lines the way the Sens do, maybe 2 lines for TB.
I am betting with my head and not my heart.

The play of the month:

Ott. -.5(-170) 5 Units;)

GLTA!

thanks Horns- just curious why this is a statment game for them- because of the bankruptcy?

I am leaning towards the under on this one any thoughts?

good luck with your 5 star:eek:

Sorry, I only stated "off the ice" but that means the bankruptcy.
Rob Bryden is going to make a bid today with a US Businessman as he has until midnight tonight to submit a bid before the creditors take other bids from outside parties. If he did not bid on the team by midnight then he would have to compete with others for the team. He now will be the only bidder since he met the deadline.

As for the total. I was sort of leaning to the over. But I think I will stay away. Sorry, wish I could help ya more. I just see a 5-2 game. GL

By the way Horns, not to contradict you in any way but more to give you extra insight into tonight's Tor-Cal game, Turek was amazing in the 2nd and 3rd periods of last night's game. I was there in person and he really gave his team a chance to get back. I used the word "amazing", that word is not too strong. They didn't win. But usually when a goalie plays like that, it's a sign of things to come. But I don't know if he scheduled to play tonight... Food for thought...

Good luck on your picks tonight!

Ace :)

Good luck HORNS!:)

I was leaning to the over in the game with Prusek in, but now that Lalime is in, I'll stay away from the total.

Thanks for the info.
