a large following. Difficult to concentrate with so many fans staring at my every swing. Spent the entire morning listening to one fan or another yelling, "buddy, you da man!" Would have been more tolerable with a marshall or two carrying those "Quiet" signs.

Anyway, I have a golf shot question.

Even though I've been told by my fans I'm one of the greatest shotmakers they've ever seen, I still have difficulty with a 40 yard pitch shot from a severe downhill / sidehill lie (Not difficulty in the sense of other mere mortals, mind you).

Any suggestions?

I'm willing to give or take golf advice.

Thanks.

I end up almost taking a hack/checkswing, attempting to strike down on the ball, and that be it. Tricky part is hitting it hard enough to go 40 yds, and being able to stop yourself (the check part of the swing), and have the ball go relatively straight :)

Downhill: weight forward, move ball back, grip down a bit on the handle...use different wedges and same motion for different distances

sidehill, ball above feet -- grip down: below feet, grip up

both cases move hands forward and ball back

similarly use same motion in different wedges for different distances

take a half swing at range with all wedges and see where the most consistent distance each is going...use these distances and try to use same repetitive swing on course
