This weeks card is tough...but I'm on these two for small plays.
Rutgers Scarlet Nights +3.5
Over West Virginia
I went against the Mountaneers last week and will do so again this week?.as I stated in my writeup on this forum last week that the Mountaneers from West Virginia are a bit overrated because the oddsmakers are looking at their impressive record?however this team is a mere shadow of the team or teams of the last 2 seasons because of the key players they lost to the NFL?this week they face a Rutgers team that is coming off of a big home win over Pitt?West Virginia is coming off of that emotional rivalry game against Virginia Tech and can?t possibly be as pumped up for a Rutgers team that they have beaten the last 4 years?I feel that Rutgers will be more than ready for them this week and have a big edge on the offensive side of the ball led by QB Ryan Hart?an outright win for Rutgers this week would be a HUGE shot in the arm for their program?I really their chances as a Home Dog in this one and feel they have a real chance to win this one OUTRIGHT!?I?ll take the 3.5 in this one.
Rutgers 24 West Virginia 23
Texas Tech Red Raiders -4.5
Over Nebraska
This is Homecoming week for Nebraska in which the teams of the past have won 36 straight games on this week?however?they face a Texas Tech team that handed the Cornhuskers their most lopsided loss (70-10 last year) in Nebraska history!...the good news for Cornhusker fans is their Defense has played much better this season? but the bad news is it?s nearly the same Defense that took the field in last years lopsided loss to Tech?in fact the Cornhuskers lost 2 players on their Defense since last year but those two (Cb Fabian Washington a first round pick by the Raiders and Lb Barrett Rudd a second round pick by Tampa) were two of the best players on their ?D??Texas Tech had a cakewalk against inferior opponents in it?s first 3 games and had a real test in their 30-17 win over Kansas last week...Nebraska has played a bit tougher schedule up to this point but Home wins over Maine, Wake and Pitt are nothing to write home about?however last week they squeeked by an average Iowa State team 27-20?there is no doubt in my mind that the crowd will be loud and revenge is definitely on the Huskers mind?but like they say??you can?t stop what you can?t catch? and I feel the Huskers Defense who have yet to face an offense like T.Tech will have it?s hands full once again this week?this one may not be as lopsided as last year?but the result will be the same!
