trying to find out how the tie breakers work in hockey regarding the playoffs??? Is it most wins that is tie breaker number 1? what are the other tie breakers? For instance if LA and Phoe end up with the same amount of point who gets the higher seed?

Thanks in advance.....

Hey Chenker...

I got this from ESPN.com

Seeding tiebreakers
The top eight teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs. The division winners in each conference are seeded Nos. 1 - 3, and the remaining five teams are seeded Nos. 4 - 8, according to point total.

In the event teams are tied in the standings, the following tiebreakers are applied to determine which team receives the higher seeding.

Tiebreaker
1. Wins
2. Points obtained in games against tied teams
3. Goal differential
