The Winner's Circle
YTD: (21-17) = +7.5 units

Initial leans - A's, Angels and Cardinals

I will post my reasoning tomorrow. As of right now, the only one I'm playing for certain is Oakland. Any thoughts out there?

Good luck!

The Winner's Circle
A's -200 = to win 2 units

Let me count the reasons why I'm playing Oakland:

1) Stronger finish to season than Twins
2) Played playoff intensity baseball most of the season
3) Home
4) Won season series 6-3
5) Hudson 5-0, 1.76 ERA career against Twins
6) Hudson 1-0, 2.84 ERA this year against Twins
7) Hudson 2-0, 1.54 ERA last 3 starts
8) A's were 22-12 when Hudson started this year

Any questions? Good luck to everyone. Let's start the playoffs with a bang!

The Winner's Circle
Yankees & Angels under 8
-115
to win 2 units

The Yankees scored runs this year via the homerun. Washburn allowed a homerun every 10 innings pitched. The Angels are not a homerun hitting team. Anaheim likes to manufacture runs. Soriano had a .286 on base percentage against Anaheim this season. Eckstein had a .273 on base percentage against New York this season. If the leadoff hitters have trouble getting on base, I don't think you can expect a lot of runs in this game. Also, consider these numbers:

Washburn 2-1, 2.93 ERA career against Yankees
Washburn 1-1, 1.66 ERA last 3 starts
Washburn 1-0, 1.29 ERA against Yankees this season

Clemens 21-7, 2.33 ERA career against Angels
Clemens didn't face Angels this season (advantage pitcher)

Good luck guys!
