a return to the old bowl system more likely than a playoff???

actually, if they made jan 1st an ACTUAL bowl day (orange-sugar-rose-fiesta-cotton) and then added a plus 1....i'd be all for it......STOP with the bcs bowls being played one at a time in a week long bore-fest on top of new years day slate of 4 worthless games in the morning.

I like the bcs bowls spaced out, but prefer a playoff.....

love to get back to Jan 1 being only:

cotton: big 12 vs at large

fiesta: at large vs at large

rose: big 10 vs pac 10

orange: at large

sugar: sec vs at large

still use the bcs system but slot the at-large teams (which inludes big-east and acc champ but must be in top 15 bcs to get bid) into open bowl slots and try to set up as close to a national semi final as possible with a PLUS ONE taking place the following week

sure would make jan 1 exciting and would get the sports world focused on bowl games all day and would likely make more than 2 games that day relevant.

this year we could have had three bowls on one day that would have mattered for a potential title game the following week

cotton: ou (9) vs lsu (10)

fiesta: stan (4) vs ohio st (6)

rose: wisc (5) vs ore (2)

orange: va tech (15) vs boise/ark/msu

sugar: auburn (1) vs tcu (3)
