Last week was a good one for me except for the loss of SDSU which happened to be my largest play. . . still a good week and hopefully we keep things going with:
10* Michigan ML (even) over Minnesota
Gotta bite on this Friday game and bite hard. Who has the Golden Gophers played this year? Penn State yes, but the Nittany Lions nearly pulled off that game at home. Amazing how great the Gopher's offense looks against scrubs when they score 40+ and then only 20 against an average Penn State defense. Basically, strength of schedule is completely opposite for both teams as Michigan has played much better teams. Also, if you look close enough at those losses, both were due largely to special teams mishaps. Will they happen against the Golden Gophers? Who knows. . . but its the same question that comes up for every game as you never know what may happen in that part of any contest except to rely on stats of previous games. If Michigan happened to win both of those games without the mishaps, would this line still be Minnesota favored by a point? The answer is obvious. This line is a product of an undefeated team going up against a team with two losses. . . nevermind the fact that the Wolves are simply the better team. They have a very solid history against Minnesota and I expect it to continue as they desperately need this win after last week. Again, Michigan doesn't have the best defense in the country, but one that is capable of slowing down the Golden Gophers as Penn State showed. Minnesota simply looks like an offensive powerhouse because of their competition and nothing else.
Wanted to add that the Golden Gophers pulled this last year when they defeated SW Texas St, UL Lafayette, Toledo (not a bad team, but one the Gophers were favored in), and Buffalo. Next game was Purdue and they faced reality losing by 13 points at 3.5 dogs. I think we see the same here when Minnesota faces a good team for the first time this year.
More plays to come.
