so. miss(-2)--i agree with those who say that tcu is not a legitimate bcs team. eventhough tcu is 10-0 this year, 6 of those games were won by 7 points or less, with 5 of them being won by 3 points. people may say that these close scores indicate that they know how how to win close games, but considering the quality of their opponents, to me it shows that they are not as good as the record indicates, especially on the road. as a visitor, tcu barely beat tulane, arizona, so. fla., & houston. none of these teams compare to so. miss. a stat site that i use rates the power rating of tcu's competition as a very ordinary 22.9, while rating so. miss. competition as 29.2.

on the road this year tcu's defense is yielding 27.5 ppg & a very poor 8.2 ypa.

the reason that so. miss. offense struggled ealier this year was because the first few games were against very good defenses & they were breaking in a new qb.but their qb, almond, has performed very well in the last few games & will have enough confidense to do well against tcu's vulernable pass defense.

at home this year, sm scores an average of 28 ppg, & gives up an average of 13 ppg on defense. their defense has given up an excellent 5.8 ypa & 23.5 yppt.

a few trends that support this play---teams that are 7-0 or better are 85-115-4 ats in road games over the years, & 24-50-2 ats if visiting a team on a winning streak, including 15-40-2 ats if the unbeaten visitor does not have a revenge motive( including 0-11 ats since 2000). last year tcu gave so. miss. their worst conference loss ever, 37-7.

the forum has talked about an unranked team favored over a ranked team being a good winning propostion. i have read, at another forum, that this year the ats record is 15-2 ( losses were tcu beating a favored so. fla. & miss. beating a favored auburn).

imo, after tonights game the bcs will not have to worry about tcu disrupting their system.

good luck

wisc.-1(130)--- last year iowa beat wisconsin 20-3.

this year iowa is a perfect 7-0 su/ats at home & a perfect 0-3 su/ats on the road. they have lost every road game(mich. st., ohio st., & purdue) by 9+ points & is averaging 11 ppg on the road. the total amount that iowa scored in those 3 road games is 34 points.

wisc., against very good defenses( ohio st.(scored17 points vs. osu ) & purdue( scored 23 points vs. pu)), who combine to allow 4.2 yppl, averages 5.4 yppl., which is impressive. iowa's defense gives up an average of 4.3 yppl this year against teams that average 5.2 yppl on offense. based on these numbers, wisc. should be able to move the ball & score on iowa's defense

a few trends to support this play:

play on any winning college team in its last home game who is playing with single revenge & is off a su conference win of 21 or more points, in which it scored at least 31 points. since 1980 the ats record is 29-10 (74%)

wisc. is 11-1 ats in its last home game, 28-5 ats in its last 33 su conference wins with revenge & 27-5 ats at home since 1993 when they allow less than 21 points. iowa is 3-28 ats in its last 31 su losses to avenging teams.

forgot to add that wisc. falls into the system where a lower ranked team is favored over a ranked team. with so. miss. covering it brings the record to 16-2.

good luck

AR- Nice call on Southern Miss! Wisky is looking mighty tasty too.

Hope you are getting everything repaired on your rental property and are able to track the assholes down who trashed the house. I don't have the patience to be a landlord, so I have been sticking with rehab properties myself. Eventually, I will start keeping the properties long term, but for now I enjoy getting in and out of the properties without any hassles.

Good luck this weekend!

fresno st.+10(138)--- last year boise st. beat fresno 67-21.

imo, it's really hard to know how good bsu really is because of their weak schedule. a site i check for power ratings gives the total power ratings of bsu's opponents( such as idaho st., smu, san jose st., utep, etc) a 16.4 rating. that's awfully weak. in comparison, power rating of fsu's opponents are 24.6.

on the surface bsu's offensive numbers are impressive. while their offense is averaging 6.4 yppl, it has come against teams that combine to allow 5.8 yppl on defense. so, their offense isn't as explosive as it seems. fsu's defense isn't much better than bsu's opponents, because it allows 5.7 yppl vs. teams that average 5.6 yppl on offense. but fsu is good at defending the pass, by allowing 5.8 yppp to teams that average 6.6 yppp on offense. this is important because bsu averages about 35-40 passes per game. at home, fsu's defense gives up an excellent 26.2 yppt. per game.

it is hard to gauge fsu's offense because their starting qb,pineger was out for most of the season. but since he has come back for the last few games, they are starting to come together offensively, now that they have a more balanced attack.

fsu has a very strong home field advantage, & over the years fsu has been a great bet at home, especially as a home dog. here are a few trends to support this play:

fsu is 29-10-1(74%) ats in home games in their history when not laying more than 15 points (3-0 ats this year), including 8-0 as a dog of more than 4 points.

earlier this year, fsu upset oregon st. at home as a 8 point dog. so it shows, to me that fsu can hang with boise st.

good luck

i keep looking at

i keep looking at

that boise/tulsa score at boise........27-20....boise got out fast but had to struggle to pull it out.....either boise`s a tad overrated,or tulsa is a very good little club flying way under the radar.......the byu/boise game on national television was over in the 2nd qtr.....

tonight`s game will give us a good idea how good boise really is......
