Nomo #'s do not look good to start the year (6.41era/1.63whip) However in his 4 starts he faced Boston twice and NYY once. TB has been hitting much better of late and current Devil Ray hitters have a .333bavg vs Bedard in 69ab's.

Both pitchers have been very sharp so far but I still feel Hudson is pitching better and I like him here. No question STL has the better hitting lineup but to this point each teamsn team batting avg's are almost similar, although STL is hitting much better in their last 10. Tough to pick a side w/ 2 ex-A's aces in their 1st start vs each other but feel the home team w/ the hotter pitcher is the right side.
CHC/HOUo7.5 (+105) 100/105
Maddux has a 4.50era and has faced Pittsburgh twice, Milwaukee, and Arizona. So 3 teams that are in the bottom of offense. No question Clemens is on fire but has not gotten much run support. My hope here is he finally gets some runs or just has a bad outing, which sometimes happens after a pitcher does extremely well for 3-4 starts w/o much to show for it as he should have at least 3 wins by now. Not to mention he is coming off 126pitches but he is a horse so that may not matter much but any tiny bit of help would be nice. Cubs also have been hitting better of late (.297avg in their last 10, .280overall).
