Horns,

New member in MJ, but have been following your picks all year. Nice job, keep up the good work. Especially appreciate your write ups.

Also appreciate and interested in your stats (e.g., teams in third straight road game, etc..) and how you track your trends. Have you kept these yourself over the years or is there a website or print subscription that lists past stats and past lines?

Since I am new to this business, I'd really like to start handicapping some of these games myself to see if I can come up with anything worthwhile for MJ. Any ideas on how to get started?

I haven't tracked this, but in my past memory, it seems that the home team in non-Saturday match-ups covers a good majority of the time (5-0 this week). Could be for a couple of reasons - 1. most of these games are on prime time (ESPN, ESPN2) for teams that don't get much national coverage - this tends to fire up the home team and home crowd. 2. Tough to travel on short week - some of these smaller schools actually have student athletes.

You may want to check this stat out.

Thanks much for the help!

horn..good luck on picks.Like your Northwestern pick.Everyone is all over Penn St with Joepa media.
Like Purdue too.
I took VT over Pitt.VT on the road is bad.But VT defense is good.Pitt defense in last couple of games have done well. But I still see Rutgers,Toledo, and AM scoring on them.
Also took Texas in a teaser or parlay..GL
