Cleveland sunshine..

Cleveland sunshine..

Born and raised in Parma....I can relate to the sh*t depressing days that seemingly go on and on....I moved to Oklahoma in 73...never looked back...DO sincerely miss Benny Shapiro"s corned beef sandwichs washed down by an ICY LaBatt Blue, though.

My brother finally escaped in 2005, currently in Gainesville Fl, home of "skimpy halter tops" as he calls it.

If you are still young, travel, see the big ole USA, lots of opportunity in states with actual viable sunshine...:SIB

Dead Money, I like that story. Escaped from Cleveland,:mj07: :mj07: Yeah well I am 62 years young now.:mj07: there is no escaping (I love that word in that spot.) :mj07: :mj07: I have 2 beautiful Daughters that i would never leave. plus 4 grandchildren. 3 boys and my Little Princess. They all play baseball Except the 3 yr old boy. All pretty good too. This summer I am all over the place. I only work 30 hours a week, (I wouldn't even work at all if I didn't need health ins.). That is the least amount of hours I can work and keep it. My oldest is going to Trinity, Football , Baseball, basketball. Halback, point guard and shortstop and catcher. He's tough. If your from Parma i know you heard of Trinity. Cathlic school. he has a baseball Tourney at Kings Island.in July. i'll watch him, get drunk and lay on the beach. thats my travel this year so far.

Funny,

Funny,

I will be 62 in October...lots of good sports memories, my dad was a part time usher when Jim Brown tore the league up.
Got to see most of those games as a "sneak in."

Saw tons of Injun games 63-69 head usher was an Italian named "Celeberto" always got good free seats. (even bagged my first underage beer)
Those were the days of Rocky Colavito and "sudden" Sam McDowell...always got very good crowd when the Yankees came into town...
wish I had saved all the Mantle cards I had as a kid.

Eric Burdon and his band were at a local Indian casino a short time ago....preferred to remember him and his voice as it was, did not go.

Enjoy your summer, baseball and Trinity....

I have a lot of memories of "Penquins", learned poker at the church summer festivals, thats another story. :toast:

Dead Money, I have been to about 3000 indians games. My neighbor had season tickets at Old Cleve stadium. He gave me a ton of them. plus alot from my job later in life. How did I miss that Italian Usher. I'M ITALIAN!!!. I had alot of baseball cards too. Agh good old Eric Burden. Yeah his voice is probably shot. My Favorites were The Beatles and the Stones. I just liked that song by the Animals. They made a few good ones.

You and i are turning this Bases forum into Facebook. :mj07: :mj07:
