I was kinda tinkering with the system where you bet a team in a progressive manner until they win a game in a series...well, here we are with the A's who havent beaten the Angels in this series yet, so i am going to stick with it. I think Zito is pitching well, and I hear that Ortiz is in a mental state where he thinks he has "dead arm" which sounds bad. On top of that...Ortiz is only 1-3 against the A's lifetime, so it sounds good to me. Zito on the other hand, has a nice record of 8-3 against the Angels.

Mays gets hammered by these guys regularly. Both teams are hitting the ball rather well, and throw in a basketball player on the mound, and you have what looks to be an over. Hendrickson is not a major-league pitcher at this point in his career, and Mays has been beat around in his last start. Also to note....Mays pitches significantly worse in day games, so I will take my chances here as well.
Reds/Phil under 10 (1 unit)
A couple of hot pitchers...and I know that the new ballpark has been like a new Coors field, but I have a suspicion that this one is gonna go under. Dempster is off a very nice start in Houston and looks to be ready to become the pitcher everyone thought he should be. Wolf is strong against the Reds, and should keep this one in check. Also the umpire in this game is favorable to Dempster. When Dempster was in Florida...he started 3 times with todays umpire, and the scores were unbelievably low.....2-1, 3-0, etc. Looks like an under to me.
Florida (+117) (1 unit)
I have to stay on the anti-Maddux train. He is having trouble with his location, and more importantly his confidence. Florida is on an offensive high, and should be able to put up the runs needed to get Redman the win here. Redman is just another on of the young pitchers to add to the collection in Florida. His sub 3.00 ERA to start the season looks like he is in MUCH better form than Maddux right now, and to get plus money at home looks to good to pass up.
Cubs (-167) (1 unit)
The Cubbies are playing pretty decent, but neither team is hitting the ball. I REALLY wanted to take the under in this spot, but I couldnt find a line this early, and I have to leave soon. This one isnt as strong as the others, but I really like Clement at home.
SF/LA under 7 (1 unit)
Schmidt is very effective at home, and bring in the hottest pitcher, IMO in Kevin Brown into the mix and you have the makings for a old fashioned pitchers duel. LA isnt exactly ripping the cover off the ball either early in the season....so I am thinking that this play is dependant on Brown and the bully giving up no more than 4 to San Fran, and I think that is easily done here.
