If you are a Creationist and believe in God, some things with the creation story do not add up in human terms. I believe, of course, and things I don't understand or even question, I have faith that it happened. Anything can be broken down by somebody who doesn't believe it (yes even evolution has its holes and flaws).
The main thing people who think Creation and Christianity are stupid and for the weak minded get hung up on is the seven days. Seven days to me doesn't necessarily mean a 24 hour day. Maybe the first day was a million years? God is a being that can not be understood in human terms. If you believe, you believe he always was, always is, and always will be. God is not constrained by the time that is known to man, so therefore a man can not fully understand.
I believe and I have faith. If anybody thinks I'm a stupid hillbilly who can't see the light, I don't really care. I learned long ago to not discuss/argue religion with an intelligent person who does not believe. It's a waste of time and effort. I believe when I die there is a better place for me that is free of suffering and pain. I beleive in an everlasting peace. I believe there is life after death. I believe i will have a perfect body. I'm at peace with myself and my beliefs, and I'm happy and content. I'm ok if the world ends tomorrow. Others believe their body will rot in a box, there is nothing to look forward to, and it's over.
Anyway, to answer the question, I believe the earth is way older than a few thousand years.
