Where it is real F ing COLD
Hey BP, I know that the loss on Sunday was probably a hard pill to swallow but you have to let the bitterness go. I never said that Washington was a good TEAM, just that the defense isn't that bad. The defense has been solid over the Skins last 10 seasons while the offense has continued to struggle. I don't think the Saints will score 42 pts against them, thats all. As far as you relishing the role of big brother, it's cute and it's noble but it'll build a'lot more character if the kid comes to his own rescue. Good luck this week against Green Bay, the books seem to think that loss #2 is right around the corner. BOL

I knew that would get you going.. The bitternesss is still INSIDE!!!!

I love getting a good argument out of something as small as a prop bet. I have nothing against anytone on this thread and am having lots of fun with this dumb prop that most likely no one will place a single cent on.

Thanks for your opinons:

So what do you think about this. Am I missing something? I am very tempted my this prop but would really like to hear other opinions about it first.

Sounds like your temptation is fading but i'll give my opinion. Don't take it, too many intangibles between now and the end of the season. Injuries, Weather, etc. Brees misses a game due to personal issues, hypothetical but you get the point. Like Utes says you would probably be better taking the over, specifically just the team over if your book will let you.

just before it ends here i go and.....

just before it ends here i go and.....

stick my thumb in this nonsense:mj07:
well ... most props are meant for ppl to jump into them as a lure (take the +200 right?)
i'd take into account that many factors in ending seasons tend to diminish the players drive or intensity ...therefore less points

will the Saints break the single season record for most point in a season?

Yes +200
No -260

-----Here is what I see:

The record was set by the 2007 Patriots (589pts) or 36.81 ppg. Six games into the season the Saints are averaging 39.7ppg. Initially I don't see a ton of value here but then I checked out their remaining schedule.

Home vs. Falcons (Everyone knows that MNF always brings up the points so this game they have a decent shot at the 37pt avg.)

Home vs. Panthers (With turnover happy Jake they shall have good field position and that means lots of pts baby)

@ Rams (Allowing 30.1ppg this season which is 3rd most)

@ Buccs (Allowing 29ppg this season which is 4th most)

Home vs. Pats (tough game and do not see them puting up 37pts)

@ Redskins (terrible team which is turnover prone. No way the saints don't put up atleast 5-6TDs)

@ Falcons (allowing 19ppg thru week 7 but the MNF game should give us a better indication of how many pts the saints can put up on them)

Home vs. Cowgirls
(inconsistent and I really think the saints can exploit them just like Eli did in week 1)

Home vs. Buccs (allowing 29ppg which is 4th most in the league)

@ Carolina (With turnover happy Jake they shall have good field position and that means lots of pts baby)

My Prediction:ACTUAL
Home vs. Falcons --- 31pts 35
Home vs. Panthers --- 38pts 30
@ Rams --- 45pts
@ Buccs --- 45pts
Home vs. Pats --- 24pts
@ Redskins --- 42pts
@ Falcons --- 28pts
Home vs. Cowgirls --- 38pts
Home vs. Buccs --- 45pts
@ Carolina --- 38pts

Remaining 10: 374
PLUS Thru 6: 238

Total: 612
-----which is 23pts over the record

The bet is what you have listed here. The Saints will score 42 pts against the Redskins, it's not for the game total. I have the Saints 41.5 and under and you have the Saints 42 and over. Just so we're on the same page. BOL

42 against Washington? The Redskins are 1 of the worst teams in the league but in the first 4 home games they are giving up an average of 10.25 points. The teams that they've played at home have not been very good but you also have to factor in how many pts were given up by Washingtons offense. Philly just scored 13 of their 27 pts on 3 turnovers deep inside Washingtons territory, so the defense only gave up 14 in that game. So without looking at how many pts Jason gave to the other 3 teams, we can say that the Skins D is giving up less than 7ppg at home. I'll def make a side bet with you that says the Saints don't score in the 40's against the Skins defense. Let me know.
This was always the bet which was made from your prop. You said the Saints would put up 42 on the Skins and I said the Skins D was in the top 5 in the league and that 42 would never happen. We never had any interest in the overall total because 6 weeks ago we had no idea what the hell the total would even be. The side bet was on what the Saints wouls score. Where's your honor?

That's exactly what I thought when you were talking all that shit about how great the Saints offense was, and why I took your bet. Now that you see the Saints might not score half that, the bet is off. Should have known you wouldn't man up because you're just a little boy. If you don't honor a bet where I come from you get your teeth kicked in. You have to live with no honor in your life, not me.

Wait a minute... how much was the bet?
Hey Wood, it was just a $50 merch bet but it's the point of it. He needs to be a man and back up his words and his crazy bet about how the Saints would score 42 or better against the Skins. Now he's trying to say we had a bet on the Game total instead of the Saints team total. Anybody who read his prop bet thread would know what the real bet was. It's not the 50 bucks, it's the principle and it's called being a man, something he knows nothing about.

If you give them just 1 TD for the game, then according to your prediction the total will come out at around 50. Let's see what the books think when the time comes. I'll also still offer up that side bet to you.

This is what i read. You said u wanted to wait until the books come out to see the line. Y would you want to wait if the Over/under didnt matter.

That's why I thought we were taking the over/under on the game

ok Redskin we shall have a side bet. $50 merchandise bet?

I just happened into this thread for the first time today but just my two cents (which, admittedly, no one asked for) is that there is no possible way this bet could have been interpreted as a game total over/under bet. BUT, Redskin you said that the Saints would not "score in the 40s" (not 42) and that's what was accepted so I'd say that gives you the Saints at 39.5 and under and Carter 40+.

Just trying to offer an impartial opinion . . .
