Siemens USA has 3000 job openings in Charlotte they can't fill. They also have jobs in Orlando, Houston, Pittsburg, Miami, Philly, etc.

These are jobs with good pay and bennies.

http://sportscasts.jobamatic.com/a/jobs/find-jobs/q-Siemens/l-Charlotte,+NC/sb-pd/pn-2

To qualify you have to be proficient in something - engineering, programming, management, welding, finance, QC or one of many other fields.

There are plenty of jobs like these available, right now, across the country.

So why are so many unemployed? Unfortunately, many of those are simply unemployable dunces.

No knowledge, no skill = no job (they can't ALL work at McDonald's).

Thanks for the month-by-month replay showing how the Bush Administration drove the country into The Great Recession and how the Obama Administration has, so far, lacked the vision to reverse it.

Btw... The Great Recession hasn't bottomed out yet and most economists predict it will not bottom out until 2013. Be careful what you wish for, Republicans. ;)

There are more than 3,000,000 current job openings -

http://news.yahoo.com/businesses-post-most-job-openings-3-years-143709367.html

But many aren't being filled because there are no qualified applicants.

The USA ranks 20th in education. That sucks. Too many dummies competing for too few jobs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_Index

And the right wing answer is to cut teacher pay and benefits, lay off teachers, and let unqualified local school boards edit text books to reflect ignorance of scientific facts.

And they run morons and science deniers for high public office.

"So, what newspapers, magazines and books do you read, Gov. Palin?"

"Uh, duh....duh...duh."

"What about that evolution thingy, Gov. Perry?"

"Well, there's lots of holes in that theory."

And global warming, should a republican believe that, he gets condemned by the virtual leader of the right wing -

<iframe src="http://rv2.magnify.net/embed/player/?layout=&playlist_cid=&media_type=video&content=7PPY871XVDF4M5S1&read_more=1&widget_type_cid=svp" width="420" height="421" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

What's the right wing motto - "Book learnin' be damned. All's a man needs is good ole common sense?"

Yah, right. That'll let us compete with the rest of the world. Uh-huh.

I don't really understand this. 3 million jobs that Americans simply don't know how to do? And employers decide it's better to have these important roles go unfilled? I just don't buy that. There are millions of college graduates unemployed. Surely these jobs can't be so very complex that Americans are unable to fill them.

Check the link in my first post. That's what's open and available with one company in one city....page after page. Perhaps those unemployed graduates have degrees in Business Administration, History, English and other fields which are not in high demand.

There is a very real shortage of engineers and scientists, and some skilled trades - certified welders, electronics techs and the like.

I'm not surprised that an uneducated windbag like Limbaugh thinks AGW is a hoax.

But it's laughable that Limbaugh has the audacity to say that Romney can say bye-bye to the nomination because Romney knows that AGW is not a theory of some distant future scenario, but that it's happening right now.

All is not lost for the Limbots though. There's a lot of Skulniks out there. :0074

Yeah I read the article. I guess when times were better that number stood at about 4 or 5 million... as the recession was beginning. Guess it's just the normal job churn, people leaving jobs and the process of filling them. The article didn't mention much about inability to find good workers.

It wasn't a jobs stimulus. In fact, it wasn't a stimulus bill at all.

Most of it went to tax cuts and social programs like food stamps and extending unemployment benefits. It was an $800 billion band-aid for a broken economy, nothing more.

Apparently, he is ten.

He likes to make names like Mags into Maggot, or azbob into assbob and jaxx into jaxxoff.

Humor that maybe a 10-year old would find funny and would keep attempting to do.
