Team POD comes up short last week:24-27
We were hopeful going into the weekend but Shatterday, as it often does, sunk us. Despite a winning Sunday, it wasn’t enough. So, we begin December seeking to start a new streak.
Let’s get right to our Medal winners. The man with the impeccable taste in women, TERRYRAY, delivered a Superb 6-1 week to earn the GOLD MEDAL. DOUBLETWO, the War Eagle at 4-2, was awarded a SILVER MEDAL. The Wabbit Chaser, ELMER FUDD took home the BRONZE MEDAL at 2-0. Congratulations Gentlemen!
The Culprit was .500 (1-1).
And the rest of the Boys: Lauderdale Legend (3-4), Coach Burns (2-4), at 2-5: Old Man River, Wild Bill and Yanno.

The 5-1 Villanova Wildcats take on Philadelphia rival the Temple Owls on Nova’s campus at 6:30 pm eastern. The game is on FS1. The Cats are -12.5/149.
Temple is 4-3 beating Delaware St, La Salle, Hofstra and Princeton. They lost to Rhode Island, Boston College and UC San Diego. Of note, they beat all foes rated over 145 in KenPom and lost to all opponents rated from 95-120. KenPom has Villanova at #42. They are led by Senior guard Derrian Ford (16.6 ppg, 83.3% FT) who is adept at drawing fouls. Aiden Tobiason shoots 67% from inside the arc and averages 15.3ppg. Gavin Griffiths is their energizer at 10.1 ppg shooting 60% from 2. AJ Smith averages 8.1 ppg but was their leading scorer in their last outing. They play mostly 7 guys. They are tough on the defensive boards, draw tons of fouls and shoot 36% from 3. They allow 38% from 3 and 50% inside the arc.
For Villanova, Duke Brennan (nation’s leading rebounder) is still questionable with a sprained ankle. Lindsey is shooting just under 50% from 3 and averaging 19 ppg. Lewis is improving every game and will definitely be in the NBA next year. Hodge continues to shoot the 3 better. Zion Stanford played for Temple last year…he’s motivated. Nova has averaged 91 ppg on campus. They are allowing opponents an alarming 41.5% from 3. They play at a slow pace but are efficient on offense.
Tonight, Temple may try to slow the pace but it probably won’t work so they will go to their bread and butter which is drive to the hoop and pick up fouls especially if Brennan is out. Nova will likely test their 3 point shooting with Lindsey and Hodge while Lewis will exploit the interior. Nova should cover this number but they have been letting opponents get back in the game once they have a large lead.
