The Cats continue on in the Philly City series. This time it?s the Holy War. The St. Joe?s Hawks are on the Nova campus to do battle at noon Eastern. Current line is Nova-22.5/143.5
The Hawks are 4-3 after taking down both Georgetown and Binghamton in their last two. They are led by Taylor Funk (19.2 ppg) who is shooting from 3 at a 54% clip. He is joined by Jordan Hall (12.8 ppg) and Ejike Obinna (6?10? and 12.5 ppg). These guys are ranked as the 22nd best defensive team inside the arc and 341st outside the arc. And, with every Hawk team, they hate Villanova.
The Wildcats meanwhile have been dealing with a virus for their last two games. 3 players are game time decisions at the moment. They beat LaSalle two back by 26 and Penn by 15 last out. Nova, with the exception of Gillespie, played poorly vs. Penn. We?ll see what Saturday brings.
What will happen: St. Joe?s will allow Nova to attempt to score inside as they extend their defense to the perimeter. That may work if no one is hitting from deep. If they do, St. Joe?s is in for a long day. If not, the Cats will win but it won?t be as easy as it should. No news yet on players out due to a virus but I suspect it?s a few Freshmen.
