Nova Report
The Cats are at the Wells Fargo Center to take on the 15-7 Seton Hall Pirates, winners of 3 straight, at 1:00. The line is Nova-9/132.
Seton Hall lost to Nova on January 1, 73-67. In that game, they were missing their tallest players: Obiagu and Samuel. They for sure expect they can take the Wildcats now that these guys will be playing. Their offense will go through Jared Rhoden fresh off of a 25 point game against Xavier. Bryce Aiken, there other scorer, has been out for a month now. However, both Yetna and Harris have stepped up their scoring in his absence.
As for the Cats, with both guards nursing sprained ankles, Gillespie and Moore played vs St Johns. Moore looked at about 80% but Gillespie, their leading scorer went scoreless. They should play much better today. Antoine looked about 90% so they all should be good to go today.
Seton Hall is looking for a Marquis win while Nova wants to stay within two games of Conference leading Providence as they have yet to play there two games against them.
What will happen. Dixon for Nova will be challenged by Obiagu who is a shot blocking machine. The bigger slower ankle challenged Nova guards will struggle with the quicker Rhoden. On the flip side, Gillespie and Moore can both drive to the hoop effectively on the Hall?s guards and pick up some fouls. Once again, they need to get to the foul line to secure a win here. If Samuels and Daniels have good performances, Nova can cover, if not?.
Seton Hall has been blown out once, vs St Johns, all other Conference games have been close. I expect that will be the case today. Unfortunately, most prognosticators see it the same way. (And I hate that).
