Nova Report
The Georgetown Hoyas visit the Villanova campus to take on the Wildcats at 5:00 pm eastern on Fox. Nova is -20/143.5
Georgetown has lost 15 straight and is winless in the Big East. They last played Nova on 1/22 in DC and lost 85-74. It should be noted they were up by 9 at half. They have two legitimate players in Harris (18 points in his last two) and Mohammed (25 points bs Creighton on Monday). Their recent pattern has been to get down by over 20 and make furious comebacks in the last 5 minutes of the game. They have, not surprisingly, the worst defense in the Big East.
Villanova comes off of their best game of the year, winning on the road Tuesday in Providence. Gillespie and Moore, nursing sprained ankles, gave everything they had in that game. Gillespie had his best game of the season. With Connecticut on deck, Coach Wright would be wise to rest his two star guards as much as possible.
What Will Happen: There is no reason to think today?s game will be any different than what we?ve seen from Georgetown in recent weeks. No matter who plays for Nova, a large halftime lead is likely. The Hoyas will press the Cats and play up tempo. They?ll foul a lot and turn the ball over a lot. They will also make a patented end of game comeback.
My Nova Pick: Over 143 (buying 1/2 point). Nova?s defense has not been up to snuff since both guards sprained their ankles. Georgetown is defenseless.
Nova Pick Record: 11-14-1
