The Cats are up in Milwaukee to face the Marquette Golden Eagles. This will be one of two straight games where 10th ranked VILLANOVA will be underdogs. Today, Marquette-1/149.
Marquette lives and dies with Markus Howard (26 ppg). Last out, Creighton saddled him with foul trouble and Marquette got buried by 17. They shot poorly, had way too many turnovers and had no answer for Creighton?s trio of stellar guards. In fairness, Anim and Bailey stepped up a bit to keep the deficit to just 17.
For Nova, they shot poorly for the second straight game but escaped with a 6 point win over a solid Xavier club. Expect them to use the Creighton playbook and pressure Howard all afternoon (2:00 pm eastern tip). They DO NOT have as talented guards as Creighton does so likely they will be less effective. Marquette is the 4th best 3 point shooting club in the country. Nova is due to hit a few 3?s after two straight games of bricks.
Nova Nation is hoping the Cats come back 1-1 from this road trip. Marquette is the likely candidate for a win. I just don?t see it though. The fans will be rabid, Howard will want to strut his stuff vs. a nationally ranked Big East opponent. Take Marquette-1 today
