Nova Report
The Cats are in Austin, Texas to take on the undefeated and 17th ranked Texas Longhorns. They just knocked off Davidson, Indiana and North Carolina to win the Maui Invitational. The line opened Nova-6 and now is Texas-1/136.
The Longhorns are a defensive minded club who bring back 100% of their scoring from last year. Matt Coleman is their leader and all everything Sr. Guard. Also at guard is a former Nova recruit (Andrew Jones) who was nixed after Quinnerly left Arizona for Nova (he later left Nova for Alabama). They are tall upfront with five star Freshman Greg Brown (6?9?), Kai Jones (6?11) and Jericho Sims (6?10?j. If Nova ever needed injured Cosby-Roundtree it would be today.
Nova is undersized upfront facing one of the best 3 point defenders in basketball. Thus, the huge line move. To win, they have to lockdown Coleman which is what they did to Remy Martin of ASU. They need to score in the paint and draw fouls to get those tall trees on the bench. Can they do it? They tend to play to their competition so at 1:00 pm eastern we shall find out.
I was all ready to take Texas getting points. However, I like going AGAINST big line moves. Let?s try a 5 point teaser again: Nova+6/Under 141.
Nova pick record: 2-2
