The Wildcats hit the road for the first of three in a row away from home as they take on St. John?s in MSG at 5:00 eastern. Nova is -3/146.
The Red Storm are 18-7 (10-13-2 ATS) and are as capable of blowing out Marquette as getting whacked by Georgetown. They are talented and maybe more so than last year when they beat Nova in Philly. In their previous meeting with the Cats, they led for 35 minutes and then collapsed losing by 5. Shamorie Ponds is their stud guard at 20.5 ppg. His supporting cast can all shoot: Mustapha Heron, LJ Figueroa, Jordan Simon and Marvin Clark. Their bench is another story.
The Red Storm know that a win today punches their ticket to the NCAA Tournament. They also saw Marquette double team Nova players each and every time they touched the ball over the 3 point line. At Madison Square Garden, we?ll see maximum effort.
For Villanova, they?ve beaten ST John?s 14 straight times at MSG. They are one game up in their Conference and want to keep it that way. Paschall has been playing lights out lately while Booth has struggled from 3 in his last 5 games. Expect the Cats to pressure Ponds and see if his teammates can step up.
