The Cats shutdown Tennessee yesterday in a game that was never close. Today, a different story. The 6th ranked Purdue Boilermakers are their foes. Purdue is -2/141.5.
I was rooting mightily for Carolina yesterday as they were a much better matchup for Nova. But, you lineup against whoever they throw at you. The Cats are basically a small team. They rely on quickness and outside shooting. Purdue has Trevion Williams (6?9?-270 lbs) and 7?4? Zack Edey. The two combined for just under 50% of Purdue?s points yesterday. Throw in Sr. Stefanovic who was 5-11 from deep and scored 23 points and you can begin to see the issues for Nova.
But?all is not lost! Purdue will always have two Bigs on the floor. Every player on Nova can hit the three. SOMEONE will be open. If Purdue has their Bigs guard the perimeter, Nova?s guards can get to the hoop.
What will happen: Purdue averages over 90 points per game so they will run. Nova, of course, will slow the game down a la North Texas last March who beat Purdue in the Big Dance. Nova will have to hit from 3 to win. They shot 37% yesterday so they are due. The Nova guards will have to get Williams and/or Edey in foul trouble?.not EZ but possible.
My Bet: Over 141.5
