The Cats grinded out a 9 point win over BC last night but did not cover. They got beat off the dribble way too much and foul trouble hurt them as without Cosby-Roundtree, they suffered down low. Today, they take on 18th ranked Arizona State who had their own struggles vs. Rhode Island yesterday.
ASU is led by Consensus All-American Remy Martin at guard. They have the PAC-12 6th man of the year Verge JR. and a top 10 recruiting class. Marcus Bagley and Josh Christopher were particularly effective Freshman. They play a fast pace and live at the free throw line.
For VILLANOVA to win tonight (9:30 eastern) they will have to slow the ball down, avoid fouls and pick it up a notch defensivly as ASU will definitely drive their guards off the dribble straight to the hoop.
The line is Nova-5/153. The Cats usually find a way to win these early season tournaments. The play is a 5 point teaser: Nova pick/Over 148.
