The Cats are playing yet again in Bubbleville (Uncasville, CT). This time they take on the Hartford Hawks who lost their only game to UCONN 69-57. Nova comes off an embarrassing loss to Va Tech. After blowing a 12 point second half lead, they missed free throws to seal the win, were lucky to put the game in OT where they looked like they were out of gas.
Hartford is led by Sophomore guard Moses Flowers (24 vs UCONN), Hunter Marks at forward and Senior Guard Traci Carter, a Philly native. The Hawks play at a slow pace and, last year at least, struggled offensively. The line is Nova-26.5/138.5.
Will Nova ?take it out? on Hartford after their loss? Is this a men vs. boys matchup? Realistically, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl should dominate inside, Gillespie is unlikely to be on fire as he was last game, Daniels can take either guard to the basket, Moore is due to shoot well and Swider, Dixon and Slater will get a lot of minutes.
Ok, throwing caution to the wind, my pick is a 5 point teaser: Nova-21.5/Under 143.5. Tip-off is 5:00 pm eastern.
