The Philadelphia City Series continues for the Cats as they host Penn (6:30 eastern). The line is Nova-13/148. Last year, Penn broke Villanova?s 25 game City Series winning streak 78-75 to win the Big 5 Championship previously dominated by Nova. Brodeur and Betley who torched the Cats last year are back along with a freshman stud, Dingle, who has averaged over 20 in his last three.
Penn features long range shooting but has a short bench. Thus, if any of their top three are on the bench due to fouls, it?s an issue. Nonetheless, this IS a Big 5 game and the Quakers will be going all out for this one. My fellow Nova basketball junkies believe (75% to 25%) that Penn will cover. I am not in that camp.
Nova stormed out last game to a 20 point lead vs. LaSalle at half. The Explorers fought back and cut it to 8 before Nova won by 11. Lesson learned for the Cat freshman. They are not dumb. They will play 40 minutes of intense basketball tonight and cover the 13. I like Nova AND Over here as neither club has a stellar defense. Bet those straight, parlay them, do what you like!
