Say it isn?t true! The VILLANOVA Wildcats have lost three straight. Now, they face a red hot Marquette squad who thumped them badly in Milwaukee a few weeks ago. What is wrong with the 15th ranked Cats? Simply stated, you can?t shoot 35% and win vs. quality teams. That plus constant confusion defensively when teams take the ball to the hoop. Lastly, over reliance on Bey and Gillespie to score. Despite all this, Nova is -5/145.5 for their 8:30 eastern game on campus vs. the 18th ranked, 17-6, Marquette Golden Warriors.
Marquette is led by Markus Howard, one of the best scorers in basketball. This team has become hot as of late because other players are now chipping in offensively. Bailey and McEwen have been on fire while Anim continues to be a solid double digit contributor. Defensively, they have struggled but even THAT has improved lately.
Tonight, the Cats need to get some balanced scoring. They most certainly need to rebound better. Marquette will do what they do best and get the ball in the hands of Howard. Nova will want to slow the game down while Marquette will do the opposite. To win, the Cats will simply have to shoot better. Maybe playing at the Finn will help.
With this line, my play is a teaser: Marquette +10/Under 150.5.
